Euro 2020 Group Stage, Tips & Previews, Tuesday June 15th

The BetDeluxe team previews the best bets from the group stage of Euro 2020 - albeit a year late!

We roll into the first set of Group F fixtures with a huge clash between Germany and France, while Hungary and Portugal meet.

The best bets for both fixtures have landed and the process to filling our pockets with cash begins!

Hungary vs. Portugal

June 16th 2:00am

The early hours of Wednesday morning grace us with defending European champion Portugal facing Hungary to open up the fixtures for Group F.

Euro 2016 seems a lightyear away for Portugal but it still has its greatest player ever in Cristiano Ronaldo lining up for another tilt at glory.

Both teams have been in solid form heading into game having recorded five-game unbeaten runs.

Marco Rossi’s men will know a 1-0 win over Cyprus followed a 0-0 draw against the Republic of Ireland is probably not good enough form to get three points against a talent laden Portuguese outfit.

A Selecao have a strong record in this tournament reaching the semi-finals in 1984, 2000 and 2012, while they were present in the quarter-finals of Euro 1996 and Euro 2008.

Portugal were also runners-up on home soil at Euro 2004 and are fancied to advance deep into this year’s tournament.

A 0-0 draw against Spain was followed by a 4-0 thumping of Israel as Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo found the scoresheet.

Expect nothing but a win to Portugal in this game.

Prediction: Portugal 3 Hungary 0

Suggested Bets:
Portugal to win to nil at $2.05
Bruno Fernandes anytime goalscorer at $3.10

France vs. Germany

June 16th 5:00am

World champion France meet the might and power of Germany in a game usually saved for a semi-final or final so getting this in the group stage is a treat.

Germany may get the upper hand here given the home ground advantage of playing at the Allianz Arena but nevertheless, France head into this clash with a 17-game undefeated run which dates back to June 12 in 2019.

Joachim Lowe’s men know the enormity of the task at hand and hit the ground running after a 7-1 belting of Latvia in a friendly last week.

However, Les Bleus hold sway in the recent head to head fixtures having won three and drawn in the last five games between the nations.

This game, as it always is, will be a battle of super elite talent in both teams and at either end of the park.

Premier league duo Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante are expected to hold fort in midfield for France, while Ilkay Gundogan and Toni Kroos pull the strings for Germany.

The attacking options for both teams are nearly endless with Karim Benzema and the freakshow that is Kylian Mbappe leading the front line for France.

Thomas Muller and Serge Gnabry are the hitmen up front for Germany.

An absolute coin toss of a match if there ever was one but France has the scales slightly tipped in its favour because of its incredible unbeaten streak.

Prediction: France 2 Germany 1

Suggested Bets:
France head to head at $2.60
