Greyhound Racing Tips

Saturday Greyhound Tips & Previews, 12th June

Tips and previews for Saturday night greyhound racing at The Meadows and Wentworth Park.

It simply isn’t a Saturday night without greyhound racing from The Meadows and Wentworth Park.

The best bets from both venues have landed and we are set to get some cash into those pockets.

The meadows race 3

#8 Indy Honey

Indy Honey raced in a midweek 525-metre event at this track only three days ago to finish midfield.

She slightly jibbed at the start and it cost her the race as she ended up eight lengths off the eventual winner.

The wider box for her tonight should be of great benefit given she can wind up her sprint without being impeded.

The quick back-up is what should spark her into life and Andrea Dailly must have her going extremely well back at the kennels to race her again this week.

If she can jump cleanly and show what she did two starts ago at Ballarat when running a sharp 25.31 over 450 metres then she is clearly the one to beat.

Suggested Bet: Indy Honey win at $4.6

Suggested Exotic: Boxed Trifecta – 2, 6, 8

The Meadows Race 7

#4 Aston Gwen

Aston Gwen is the ultimate professional with 16 wins and 23 minor placings from 58 starts.

She lobbed over to Sandown last start and came up well short as a $3.2 elect in G4/5 event.

What will likely spark improvement in her performance is a return to her favourite track.

She is six wins and nine placings from 20 starts at The Meadows and the last start here over 600 metres was a smart 34.66 victory back on May 29 where she led all the way.

Box four might be a tad awkward for her but she should be able to get a nice cart across with the dog drawn her immediate inside looking for the lead.

Great chance to bounce back into the winners list and is a major threat to the current favourite.

Suggested Bet: Aston Gwen win at $3.5

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 4 & 2

The Meadows Race 9

#7 Spring Cobra

Spring Cobra had very little luck at The Meadows on Wednesday when he ran on to finish second behind Special Talent.

Mark Delbridge clearly believes that run was good enough to race him on the three-day back-up into this race and he has drawn to be out of trouble early.

This chaser’s record from box seven reads two wins and four minor placings from eight starts.

Given Wednesday was his first ever start at this track, he clearly appreciated the surface and turns given how well he ran on.

Looks an fantastic each-way bet.

Suggested Bet: Spring Cobra each-way at $7.5 the win and $3.2 the place

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 4 & 7

Wentworth Park Race 1

#7 Short Ticket

Jodie Lord may have unearthed another gem of a chaser this time with Short Ticket.

Lord stepped her up to city grade at Wentworth Park earlier this week and she answered with aplomb to grind home with a 520-metre G5 event by half a length.

It was her first ever try over the distance and her fitness will only improve from that 30.10 run.

She has shown a liking to drawing wide boxes given she takes a few strides to really get motoring.

Expecting her to run a peak rating here and if he improves again then she might smashed the 30 second time barrier.

Looks the best of the night from Wentworth Park.

Suggested Bet: Short Ticket win at $4

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta 1, 7/ 1, 3, 7/ 1, 3, 5, 7

Wentworth Park Race 10

#6 Chase Me honey

Backing Chase Me Honey to knock off the odds-on favourite here.

Cawbourne Turvey is probably the most talented dog in the race but not sure the set-up is ideal to see him running at his best.

He has 16 days off since his last run whereas Chase Me Honey is up and running.

Her effort from box seven last start when running second behind Kotoni Banner will have her in this race up to her ears.

With a little bit of luck early from the green lid, she can spear across and gain the early ascendancy on the favourite and prove too good.

Suggested Bet: Chase Me Honey win at $3.5
