Saturday night greyhound racing from The Meadows and Wentworth Park.
The best bets from both venues.
The Meadows Race 4
#4 Negasi Bale
Negasi Bale continues to plug away in these events most Saturday nights but he gets his chance to break through for his victory in a while.
He was well backed as a $5 elect last start but just had no luck from box three after jumping a bit sluggishly.
There is money around to suggest Andrea Dailly has this dog going well and he has been building towards a big run.
Gets the gun draw from box one and if he can just find a little bit luck early in the race it should take him a long way to winning.
Expecting a sharp improvement from him.
Suggested Bet: Negasi Bale win at $4.6
Suggested Exotic: Quinella 4 & 8
The Meadows Race 5
#1 Drako Bale
Drako Bale has had a fantastic month of form despite only winning the one race.
He put in a big performance at The Meadows’ 600 metre circuit four starts ago when running a 34.69 to win by just over a length.
His last two starts have come at Ballarat over 545 metres where he has put in solid efforts to suggest its time for the step up to 600 metres again.
Love the fact that Andrea Dailly races him in the three-day back-up here; it’s a sign this dog is thriving and in great physical condition.
Suggested Bet: Darko Bale win at $2.3
Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 1/ 2, 7/ 2, 7, 8
The Meadows Race 6
#2 He Shall Rodger
He Shall Rodger will probably be wanting to draw nearer to the inside given he’s had not much luck at his last two starts.
Providence Bale is the clear danger in this race, but if our selection can get the gun run from box two then he will be hard to hold out.
His 30.24 victory here last month from box four follow by his flat 30-second runner-up finish behind Mr. Fix It is more than capable of winning this race.
We get an each-way price about him as well.
Suggested Bet: He Shall Rodger each-way at $6 the win and $1.90 the place.
Suggested Exotic: Exacta 6 & 4
The Meadows Race 9
#9 Bahati Bale
The scratching of Tarlee has given Bahati Bale the perfect opportunity to find victory.
Her form is much better than it suggests having raced against dogs much faster than the field she faces today.
The last time she ran in grade five class she started a $2.8 favourite and was never able to find a comfortable spot in the run from a wide box.
With some even luck from box five she should be able to put her best paw forward.
She boasts a sub 30-second personal best which, if replicated, could easily win this race.
Suggested Bet: Bahati Bale win at $4.4
Wentworth Park Race 5
#3 Rev Up Bob
Rev Up Bob is the greyhound here with the most qualified city credentials.
Most of his rivals in the market have had lead-up runs at provincial or country meetings against inferior opposition.
He has started an odds-on favourite in town at this last three starts but has failed to find winning form.
The Michelle Sultana-trained chaser has almost been cracking the sub 30-second time barrier and with a clear run he might be able to do so tonight.
If that occurs, they will only be seeing his tail in the home straight.
Suggested Bet: Rev Up Bob win at $3.2
