AFL Round 12 Best of the Rest Tips & Previews

The BetDeluxe best of the rest for Round 12 AFL action.

Round 12 is upon us and it all starts with Melbourne and Brisbane going head to head on Friday night.

The best bets for each game have landed as we prepare for another huge weekend of AFL.

Melbourne vs. Brisbane

June 4th 7:50pm

Melbourne will attempt to hold fort atop of the AFL ladder when it plays fellow premiership threat Brisbane.

The Demons systematically picked apart and outhunted a lacklustre Western Bulldog outfit last week to move to 10-1 and outright first on the table, while the Lions continued its impressive winning run with a 10-goal demolition of the GWS Giants.

Chris Fagan’s men have won the last two clashes against the Demons but have never faced a Melbourne side in as good a form.

The Lions forwards will have to on top of their game if they are to conjure up a winning score this week.

Melbourne boast the best defensive record in the game with brilliant team defence tactics as well as the defensive twin towers Steven May and Jake Lever.

Prediction: Melbourne by 21 points

Suggested Bets:
Melbourne -3.5 at $1.89

Sydney vs. St Kilda

June 5th 1:45pm

Sydney and St Kilda do battle on Saturday afternoon as the Swans look to solidify their September credentials.

Sydney put away Carlton in a final quarter blitz last weekend to win by 22 points as the Saints overcame a plucky North Melbourne outfit by 20 points.

The Saints did pummel Sydney to the tune of 52 points last year but this Swans team is a completely different beast in 2021.

Lance Franklin has kicked nine goals in his last two games and poses a huge threat to the St Kilda backline.

Prediction: Sydney by 25 points

Suggested Bet: Sydney -18.5 at $1.87

Adelaide vs. Collingwood

June 5th 4:35pm

Adelaide welcome Collingwood  to Adelaide Oval this Saturday in a bid to bounce back to winning ways.

The Crows looked the goods early in their clash against Richmond last week but faded away late in the piece to go down by 28 points.

Collingwood continued to struggle as it sunk to a 2-9 record after a 10-point loss to Geelong in a snooze fest game at the MCG last weekend.

The Pies generally travel well but Adelaide has a mojo about them that is hard to quell.

Ben Keays has been prolific and Taylor Walker will prove a pain for the Collingwood defence.

Prediction: Adelaide by 18 points

Suggested Bet: Adelaide -13.5 at $1.90

Carlton vs. WEst Coast

June 6th 3:20pm

Carlton remain in Sydney as it welcomes West Coast to the SCG on Sunday afternoon.

Both teams are seeking confidence boosting wins after coughing up leads to fall short last week.

The Eagles blew a five-goal lead to the Bombers while Carlton faded away in the last quarter against Sydney.

The Eagles have a notoriously poor record at the SCG as do the Blues so neither team will gain an advantage at the venue.

West Coast have had the wood over Carlton in recent years and clearly have more firepower through midfield which is what will set them apart in this game.

Prediction: West Coast by 10 points.

Suggested Bets: West Coast head to head at $2.02

Fremantle vs. Western Bulldogs

June 6th 6:40pm

Fremantle and Western Bulldogs bring to an end Round 12 at Optus Stadium.

Both teams were disappointing last week as the Dogs succumbed to a 28-point defeat at the hands of Melbourne, while Fremantle struggled to contain a rampant Port Adelaide to go down by 46 points.

A return to its home deck should spark a marked improvement in the Dockers having defeated the Bulldogs last time they played each other at the venue.

Granted the Dogs have become an improved team since then but so have the Dockers.

Matt Taberner will prove a handful for Alex Keith.

Fremantle are not without a chance in this game, but the Dogs might just be a little too classy in the midfield.

Prediction: Western Bulldogs by 1 point.

Suggested Bets: Fremantle +17.5 at $1.89

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Western Bulldogs head to head (SGM SPECIAL)
Leg 2: Total points scored over 166.5
Leg 3: Fremantle win first quarter
Combined odds = $8
