AFL Round 11 Best of the Rest Tips & Previews

The BetDeluxe best of the rest for Round 11 AFL action.

The half-way point of the AFL premiership arrives as we head into Round 11.

Collingwood and Geelong headline the best of the rest.

Collingwood vs. Geelong

May 29th 1:45pm

Geelong will attempt its climb up the ladder when it plays Collingwood at the MCG.

The Cats continued on their merry way last week with a comfortable win over the Gold Coast Suns, while the Pies were left heartbroken going down to Port Adelaide by a point.

Round 20 last year was the last time these two teams met and it was Geelong who came way with a commanding 68-point triumph.

Not sure how the Pies manage the newly dubbed ‘three-headed monster’ of the AFL in the form of Jeremy Cameron, Tom Hawkins and Garry Rohan.

Prediction: Geelong by 29 points

Suggested Bets:
Geelong -24.5 at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Geelong 1-39
Leg 2: J. Cameron 2+ goals
Leg 3: J. DeGoey 2+ goals
Combined odds = $5

Brisbane vs. GWS Giants

May 29th 2:10pm

Brisbane host the GWS Giants at the Gabba in a bid to lock itself in the top four.

The Lions produced a big second-half against Richmond last Friday night to come away with a 28-point victory.

The Giants, meanwhile, produced a stirring 16-point victory against West Coast despite being without spiritual leader Toby Greene.

The head to head record for these two teams has been even stevens the last four times.

Interestingly, the Giants have won the last two games they have played against the Lions at the Gabba, while the Lions have returned serve at Giants Stadium.

The line and head to head markets look very overstated here despite the Lions’ form.

Prediction: Brisbane by 8 points

Suggested Bet: GWS Giants +28.5 at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Brisbane 1-39
Leg 2: Total points scored under 169.5
Leg 3: T. Taranto 25+ disposals

Combined odds = $4.6

St Kilda vs. North Melbourne

May 29th 4:35pm

St Kilda is desperate for a win against North Melbourne as its season teeters on the brink of disaster.

While North Melbourne were not expected to make inroads in the competition this year, the Saints were expected to at least make the eight but looks a galaxy away after being slaughtered by the Western Bulldogs last week.

Brett Ratten and his men were lost for answers as they went down by 111 points, while it was much the same for the Kangaroos who suffered another heavy defeat this time at the hands of Essendon.

This is like picking the lesser of two evils at the moment.

The Saints have too much on the line to cough this up and should get the four points.

Prediction: St Kilda by 32 points

Suggested Bet: St Kilda -27.5 at $1.89

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: St Kilda head to head (SGM SPECIAL)
Leg 2: Total points scored over 170.5 points
Leg 3: B. Crouch 25+ disposals
Leg 4: J. Steele 25+ disposals
Combined odds = $4.75

West Coast vs. Essendon

May 29th 7:40pm

Essendon venture over to Optus Stadium for a battle against West Coast on Saturday night.

The Eagles missed a golden opportunity against the GWS Giants last week who were without Toby Greene.

West Coast would fall short by 16 points and now have the task of bouncing back into winning against an Essendon team who come off a 72-point smashing of North Melbourne.

The Bombers offensive game style will surely trouble the Eagles throughout patches of the game, but the home team should have too much class.

Prediction: West Coast by 22 points

Suggested Bets: Essendon +26.5 at $1.87

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: West Coast head to head (SGM SPECIAL)
Leg 2: O. Allen 2+ goals
Leg 3: L. Ryan 2+ goals
Combined odds = $6.5

Richmond vs. Adelaide

May 30th 1:10pm

This fixture has been thrown into chaos with a venue yet to be locked in.

Regardless, we are set for an intriguing battle between the reigning premier who looks well off its best and a resurgent Adelaide Crows.

The Tigers were well beaten by Brisbane last week to the tune of 28 points, while the Crows produced a stunning upset against Melbourne to win by a solitary point.

Richmond delivered a 44-point defeat to Adelaide in Round 18 last season but the Crows are an improve team nowadays.

Expect the Tigers to get the ‘W’ but it will be closer than the 26.5 line.

Prediction: Richmond by 18 points

Suggested Bets: Adelaide +26.5 at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Richmond head to head (SGM SPECIAL)
Leg 2: B. Keays 25+ disposals
Leg 3: T. Walker 2+ goals
Leg 4: Total points scored over 166.5
Combined odds = $4.2

Sydney vs. Carlton

May 20th 3:20pm

Sydney welcome Carlton to the SCG on Sunday afternoon in an attempt to bounce back into winners list.

The Swans fell agonisingly short against Fremantle in Perth last week but a return home against a Carlton team who struggled to knock off Hawthorn is just the tonic needed.

Lance Franklin has a knack of kicking goals against the Blues and given his six-goal haul in Round 10, it spells trouble for a Blues defence who leak like a rusty tap.

Carlton will likely welcome back Jack Martin which is a massive inclusion but that will not be enough to get over the line.

Prediction: Sydney by 17 points

Suggested Bets: Sydney head to head at $1.43

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Sydney head to head
Leg 2: Total points scored under 168.5
Leg 3: E. Curnow 25+ disposals
Leg 4: H. McKay 2+ goals
Leg 5: L. Franklin 2+ goals

Combined odds = $5.5

Port Adelaide vs. Fremantle

May 30th 4:40pm

Fremantle head across the Nullabor to take on Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Sunday evening.

The Purple Haze conjured up a pulsating two-point win over Sydney in Round 10 and come into this game with a head full of steam.

Port, meanwhile, survived an improved Collingwood outfit to hold on by a point at the MCG.

The Dockers were impressive the last time they travelled to Adelaide Oval when they recorded a two-goal win over Adelaide earlier this season.

However, Port Adelaide has won the last two fixtures against Fremantle, and, while not travelling as well some say it should be, Port should be able to get the win.

Prediction: Port Adelaide by 22 points.

Suggested Bets: Fremantle +27.5 at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Port Adelaide head to head (SGM SPECIAL)
Leg 2: T. Boak 25+ disposals
Leg 3: A. Cerra 25+ disposals
Leg 4: C. Dixon 2+ goals
Combined odds = $4.1
