The second major tournament of the 2021 golf calendar has arrived and we’re set for another thrilling four days of action.
Kiawah Island represents a tough challenge for even the best of ball strikers as we round out the best bets.
Rory McIlroy
Rory McIlory silenced his critics with a fantastic effort at Quail Hollow to win the Wells Fargo Championship by one shot.
The Northern Irish champion hit a final round three under par to take out the tournament by one shot and in doing so ended a 553-day winless run.
McIlroy had been building up to explode in a tournament this year and it could not have come at better time.
The current world number seven has been there and done it before on this Kiawah Island course having bolted in the 2011 PGA Championship at this very venue.
He is a deserved favourite and looks to have put form and injury issues in the past.
Suggested Bet: Rory McIlory win at $13
Jordan Speith
Jordan Speith has hit some hot form heading into this tournament and is a huge winning chance.
The 27-year-old has had his fair share of struggles in the last few years but we still need to remember how talented this man is.
He already has three majors to his name and was unlucky not to win this major back in 2015 when beaten only by Jason Day.
With four Top 10 finishes in his last four tournaments and two of them in the Top 5 – including a much needed victory at the Valero Texas Open – it seems we are witnessing the Jordan Speith who took the golfing world by storm.
In his previous nine tournaments the young American has finished inside the Top 5 on no less than five occasions.
“Speith” seems to be on every tournament leaderboard as it was when he reached the heights of the tour.
Suggested Bet: Jordan Speith win at $17
Daniel Berger
Daniel Berger has come up big odds and his form would suggest he should be much shorter.
The 28-year-old American recently won the AT&T Pebble Beach after firing a final round 66 to haul in his fourth PGA Tour victory.
Last weekend saw Berger notch up with a third-placed finish at AT&T Byron Nelson after finishing his round with a superb 64.
If he can shoot a round or two in the 60s here on the Ocean Course then he would be well on his way to winning that elusive first major.
Currently ranked 16th in the world, his form would suggest a major is only around the corner and it could quite possibly be this weekend.
His form around seaside courses bodes well with three top 10 finishes including a victory this year.
It seems as though this Kiawah Island track will only enhance Berger’s chances to tick off his first major.
Suggested Bet: Daniel Berger win at $34
