Round 11 is here!
North Queensland vs. Newcastle
may 20th 7:50pm
North Queensland will attempt to continues its winning streak against an injury depleted Newcastle Knights.
It’s been mixed news for the Knights on the injury front.
Centre Bradman Best is out with a hamstring niggle suffered in the loss to Wests Tigers and veteran Blake Green has been named to return from the rib injury he suffered three weeks ago.
Gun fullback Kalyn Ponga missed Magic Round due to a hip injury and remains sidelined for an indefinite period.
To make matters worse for the Knights, they have not won in Townsville since 2015.
Having won only one of their past 15 games in Queensland, it all points towards a Cowboys win.
Suggested Bets: North Queensland -5.5 at $1.82
Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: North Queensland head to head
Leg 2: K. Feldt anytime try scorer
Leg 3: Total points scored under 48.5
Combined odds = $4.33
New Zealand vs. Wests Tigers
May 21st 6:00pm
The Warriors must overcome a recharged Wests Tigers outfit if they are any chance of a bucking a two-game losing streak and a slump that has seen them drop out of the top eight.
Lamentable defensive lapses that have seen the Warriors concede 38 points to Manly and 34 to Parramatta in successive losses
The Warriors floundered an eight-point lead in the first contest against Manly and then dug themselves too deep a hole in the second.
However, that form line looks stronger than the win the Wests posted against a Kalyn Ponga-less Knights.
Suggested Bet: New Zealand Warriors -4.5 at $1.89
Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: New Zealand Warriors -4.5
Leg 2: Total point scored under 48.5
Leg 3: K. Maumalo anytime try scorer
Combined odds = $4.6
Cronulla vs. St. George Illawarra
May 21st 7:55pm
The passion and emotion of a local derby might just be what the doctor ordered for Cronulla who are in desperate need of win against the St George.
The Sharks are on the wrong end of a six-game losing streak and needs arrest an accelerating slide out of contention.
The Sharks’ second-half fightback to get to within four points of South Sydney on Saturday is encouraging but it still left us with more questions than answers.
A fixture against a vicious arch-rival won’t be an easy assignment after the Dragons’ gritty display against reigning premier Melbourne despite being down a man for most of the match.
Expecting a close encounter in this one.
Suggested Bets: St George Illawarra +7.5 at $1.89
Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Cronulla 1-12
Leg 2: Total points scored over 45.5
Combined odds = $5.5
Gold coast vs. canterbury
may 22nd 3:00pm
Gold Coast head into a must-win clash against the wooden spoon bound Canterbury on Saturday afternoon.
The Titan’s premiership credentials are slowly whittling away due to a collapse in the team’s defensive application in recent weeks.
Justin Holbrook’s men have conceded a whopping 188 points in their past five outings, sending their points differential into negative territory and the club out of the top eight.
The Bulldogs, meanwhile, put up a brave fight against the Raiders last week and should do the same here against a lacklustre Titans squad.
Suggested Bets: Canterbury Bulldogs +13.5 at $1.94
Sydney vs. Brisbane
May 22nd 5:30pm
The Sydney Roosters finally enter a game unchanged when they face the embattled Brisbane Broncos.
The Roosters flipped around a 31-18 defeat against Parramatta into a 30-16 win over the airborne Cowboys in the space of a week.
Thankfully, the Roosters are finally on the end of some luck on the injury front.
A brief respite from the injury curse that has devastated the club’s playing stocks in 2021 means head coach Trent Robinson can stay away from the whiteboard until game day with the unchanged line-up announced.
The Broncos will need a miracle in this game after being absolutely smashed by Manly 50-6 last week.
A game against a team who averages 28 points a game in the form of the Roosters is probably not what coach Kevin Walters would have enjoyed seeing on the fixture list.
Suggested Bets: Sydney Roosters -21.5 at $1.78
Canberra vs. Melbourne
May 22nd 7:35pm
The Canberra Raiders face the might and power of the Melbourne Storm on Saturday night after surviving a huge scare against the Bulldogs.
The 20-18 win produced by Ricky Stuart’s men broke a five-game losing streak and how they continue their winning ways is now the next query.
Josh Papalii, Jack Wighton and Josh Hodgson will all miss for the Raiders which makes the task much more difficult.
The Storm were at their all-conquering best in a 44-18 win over the Dragons last week and they will be smelling blood again.
Suggested Bet: Melbourne Storm -16.5 at $1.92
Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Melbourne Storm head to head
Leg 2: Total points scored over 46.5
Leg 3: J. Addo-Carr 2+ tries
Combined odds = $5
South Sydney vs. Penrith
May 23rd 2:00pm
South Sydney has brought back to earth by defending premiers Melbourne twice this season and now it prepares to face losing 2021 grand finalist Penrith – undefeated and the hottest form team in the league.
The Rabbitohs were blown off the park in both encounters by the Storm.
A 50-0 drubbing on the second occasion just two weeks ago put a huge question mark on their premiership credentials and, now, another question is be asked against the Panthers.
The premiership favourite is conceding a mere 7.2 points per game and went bonkers in offence to score 48 points apiece in thrashing of the Titans and Sharks in their two most recent fixtures.
In other words… good luck beating Penrith this year.
Suggested Bet: Penrith Panthers -9.5 at $1.90
Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Penrith Panthers -9.5
Leg 2: Total points scored under 46.5
Leg 3: B. To’o anytime try scorer
Combined odds = $5
