AFL Round 10 Best of the Rest Tips & Previews

The BetDeluxe best of the rest for Round 10 AFL action.

Round 10 of the AFL Premiership arrives as do the best bets from the best of the rest this weekend.

Friday night football gets us underway when the reigning premier travels up to the Gabba.

Brisbane vs. Richmond

May 21st 7:50pm

The reigning premier Richmond trek up to the Gabba when it faces the Brisbane Lions on Friday night.

The Tigers scored a breath-taking come-from-behind win over the GWS Giants last weekend as Daniel Rioli kicked the sealer.

Brisbane, meanwhile, demolished Gold Coast in ‘The Q-Clash’ by 11 goals to signify its intentions of pushing for a top four spot yet again.

Chris Fagan’s men got the better of the Tigers by 15 points when the teams last met in Round 19 of 2020.

The home team definitely look to be travelling the better of two this year.

Prediction: Brisbane Lions by 19 points

Suggested Bets:
Brisbane -16.5 at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Brisbane head to head (SGM SPECIAL)
Leg 2: C. Cameron 2+ goals
Leg 3: J Daniher 2+ goals
Leg 4: H. McCluggage 25+ disposals
Combined odds = $4.6

Carlton vs. Hawthorn

May 22nd 1:45pm

Carlton get the perfect opportunity to bounce back into the winners list against a struggling Hawthorn at the MCG.

The Blues were outclassed by the undefeated Melbourne last week and now face the easier task of a Hawks team who were left embarrassed after going down to North Melbourne.

Jack Silvagni will be welcomed for Carlton in a much needed boost for its forward line.

The Hawks did pinch the win over Carlton last season when they met at Optus Stadium but it’s hard to tip a team who look void of answers at the moment.

Prediction: Carlton by 37 points

Suggested Bet: Carlton -20.5 at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Carlton -20.5
Leg 2: E. Betts 2+ goals
Leg 3: H. McKay 2+ goals

Leg 4: P. Cripps 25+ diposals
Combined odds = $5

Geelong vs Gold Coast

May 22nd 2:10pm

Geelong will look to continue its surge towards the top of the table in what looks to be an easy kill against the Gold Coast Suns.

The Cats put in a tradesman-like performance to get the job done over the Saints last week and improve their record to 6-3.

Gold Coast, however, were abysmal against a sharp Lions outfit and went down by 73 points to leave itself languishing in 14th place.

Not sure how they match it with Geelong at GMHBA.

This one could get ugly again for the second week running.

Prediction: Geelong by 55 points

Suggested Bet: Geelong -44.5 at $1.89

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Geelong head to head (SGM SPECIAL)
Leg 2: J. Cameron 2+ goals
Leg 3: T Hawkins 2+ goals
Leg 4: M. Duncan 2+ goals
Leg 5: Total points scored over 156.5
Combined odds = $13

Adelaide vs. Melbourne

May 22nd 4:35pm

Melbourne get an enormous chance to go 10-0 when it faces an Adelaide Crows squad who in a form slump.

The Demons accounted for the Blues with a professional 26-point victory, while the Crows were left to rue a horrible second term which cost them a five-goal loss against West Coast.

The Crows do have the advantage of playing at Adelaide Oval with their home fans spurring them on, but Melbourne’s momentum is palpable.

A rock solid defence, a deep midfield and a dangerous forward line will have the Crows battling to keep up.

Prediction: Melbourne by 25 points

Suggested Bets: Adelaide +30.5 at $1.89

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Melbourne head to head (SGM SPECIAL)
Leg 2: B. Fritsch 2+ goals
Leg 3: T. Walker 2+ goals
Leg 4: C. Petracca 25+ disposals
Leg 5: B. Keays 25+ disposals
Combined odds = $4.2

Western Bulldogs vs. St Kilda

May 22nd 7:25pm

The Marvel Stadium specialists, Western Bulldogs and St Kilda, go head to head on Saturday night.

The Bulldogs continued their brilliant first-half of the 2021 season with a famous 19-point victory over Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval last week.

St Kilda, meanwhile, shot themselves in the foot with inaccurate kicking to go down by 21 points against Geelong.

The Saints did get the chocolates over the Dogs by three points last year but it has been contrasting stories in 2021.

Should be a win to the home mob but the line does look a bit inflated.

Prediction: Western Bulldogs by 16 points

Suggested Bets: St Kilda +24.5 at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Western Bulldogs head to head
Leg 2: Toal points scored under 169.5 points
Leg 3: M Bontempelli 25+ disposals
Leg 4: M. King 2+ goals
Combined odds = $7

GWS vs. WEst Coast

May 23rd 1:10pm

The GWS Giants welcome the West Coast Eagles to GIANTS Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Giants will be without stand-in captain and barometer Toby Green after he fractured his shoulder in the close loss to Richmond last week.

It presents the Eagles with the perfect chance to pinch a win away from home as it looks to solidify its spot in the top eight.

West Coast have won the last four clashes against the Giants which is sure to give it a morale boost heading into the first bounce.

Prediction: West Coast by 11 points

Suggested Bets: West Coast -7.5 at $1.89

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: West Coast head to head
Leg 2: Total points scored under 167.5
Leg 3: T. Kelly 25+ disposals
Combined odds = $4.10

Collingwood vs. Port Adelaide

May 23rd 3:20pm

Port Adelaide cross the border when it heads to the MCG for a clash against Collignwood on Sunday aftrenoon.

This match is made even more interesting given the debate sparked about the prison bars outfit Port Adelaide have been denied from wearing.

Should be some added spice in this game and Port, despite sitting in fifth spot, do not seem to be doing as well as they should be.

Pies have flown under the radar and while they are unlikely to beat this Port side full of talent, they more than capable of covering the line.

Prediction: Port Adelaide by 9 points

Suggested Bets: Collingwood +19.5 at $1.89

Essendon vs. North Melbourne

May 23rd 4:40pm

North Melbourne will be riding the high of their first win of the season when it locks horns with Essendon to finish Round 10.

The Kangaroos got the monkey off the back with a seven-point victory over Hawthorn last week and will now look to repeat the feats against a Bombers side who battled tooth and nail for the win against Fremantle last week.

The Bombers have just continued to plug away this season and while unlikely to make finals, it had been a positive first-half to the year.

Essendon look the more potent of teams when going inside forward 50 and that should be enough to get them over the line here.

Prediction: Essendon by 25 points

Suggested Bets:  Essendon -22.5 at $1.87
