Wednesday Greyhound Tips & Previews, Wednesday 19th May

Tips and previews for a Wednesday greyhound racing from Ballarat, The Meadows and Wentworth Park.

Wednesday greyhound racing from Ballarat, The Meadows and Wentworth Park.

The best bets for chasing across the east coast have landed.

Wentworth Park Race 6

#2 cawbourne canelo

Cawbourne Canelo looks ready to fire on all cylinders.

Loved her effort at this course and distance last start when drawing box six and almost pinching the race on her metropolitan debut.

She showed tremendous gate speed but was bumped at a crucial stage of the race which would ultimately cost her victory.

Now, she has drawn closer to the rails in box two and the dog drawn in box one does not possess the early speed she does.

As such, she should rail easily, lead and be the first past the post.

Suggested Bet: Cawbourne Canelo win at $3

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 3/ 4, 5,/ 4, 5, 9

Wentworth Park Race 10

#5 Serious Object

Serious Object is the most serious of chances in this race.

A genuine, honest beginner who will give his all in this race from box five.

He is the sharpest dog in this field having run a slick 29.97 when finishing runner-up behind Light and Lily as an odds-on favourite last start.

That run is the only sub 30-second effort any dog in this field has managed at Wentworth Park in this field when looking at the last five efforts in the form book.

He is the best of the night at Wentworth Park and should give this lot a chasing lesson.

Suggested Bet: Serious Object win at $2.8

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 5/ 1, 2, 7/ 1, 2, 7

The Meadows Race 6

#2 Tron

Races on the three-day back-up here after being beaten a fair way up the Healesville straight over an unsuitable 350 metres.

He was clearly there to ensure his legs are kept ticking over for this race rather than being a genuine winning chance.

The dogs in that race were clearly much sharper than he is but now he faces a set-up that will be right up his alley.

There is not a lot of pace predicted for this 525-metre affair and he can follow the tail of Circumstance.

The last time he raced at this course, distance and grade he started a $1.70 favourite and won comfortably.

Best of the day at The Meadows.

Suggested Bet: Tron win at $2.8

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 2 & 6

The Meadows Race 7

#1 Alarm Response

Going against the odds-on favourite here and electing to side with the dog draw in box one.

He has had the experience of already having run at The Meadows to get familiarised with the surroundings which is something the favourite is yet to do.

Gets the perfect box to able to rail up and hold the lead from the favourite.

The set-up here should allow him to run somewhere in the vicinity of his last win which came at Sale over 520 metres.

If he runs near that then he will be very hard to hold out in this race.

Suggested Bet: Alarm Response win at $2.8

Ballarat Race 7

#8 ZImmer Bale

Backing Zimmer Bale to knock off this very short-priced favourite.

Despite conceding Oriental Amber is the deserved the favourite, she seems to be more of a $1.5-$1.6 chance rather than the the $1.30 being brandied about.

Our pick loves to race out wide on the course and he gets that set-up again today.

Just hoping Oriental Amber strikes some traffic from the squeeze box, while we are off, gone and out of trouble in the pink rug.

Suggested Bet: Zimmer Bale $3.9
