NBL Tips and Previews, Tuesday 18th May

Tips and Previews for some of the best upcoming NBL Action.

The tearaway league leaders hit the court for mid-week NBL when Melbourne United and Perth Wildcats come up the favourites in their respective fixtures.

Best bets for Tuesday night and Wednesday night NBL are in.

Melbourne United @ Illawarra Hawks

May 18th 7:30pm

NBL Championship favourite Melbourne United travel to the WIN Entertainment Centre for a clash against the Illawarra Hawks.

United will be keen to get that winning momentum back after falling short in ‘The Throwdown’ against cross-town nemesis South East Melbourne Phoenix.

Despite Jock Landale’s 19-point, three-rebound and three-assist effort, United went down 83-94 and now face a Hawks team who ride the wave of a three-game winning streak.

The Hawks held on for a narrow 73-71 victory over the battling New Zealand Breakers to hold down fourth spot on the NBL table.

United take the confidence of having comfortably accounted for the Hawks back on April 18, but that on its home deck.

The WIN Centre is never an easy road trip and the Hawks will certainly take it up to United.

Suggested Bets:
Illawarra Hawks +6.5 at $1.89
Total points scored under 163.5 at $1.89

Perth Wildcats @ Brisbane Bullets

May 18th 7:30pm

The Perth Wildcats meet the Brisbane Bullets at the Brisbane Convention Centre on Wednesday night .

Perth made it 35-straight finals appearances when booking it’s place in the 2020/21 NBL playoffs with a win over the Cairns Taipans on Monday night.

The tale of the tape for Brisbane, however, is one of desperation.

The Bullets need a win here and results to go their way if they are any glimmer of a chance to make the playoffs.

It may come down the motivation of the Wildcats.

Perth have played the Bullets off the court in the last two fixtures with 92-74 and 102-90 victories stored away in their 22-8 season record.

Nathan Sobey will continue to do his thing after nailing 24 points and five assists in the loss to the Wildcats last Saturday but he needs to be supported by team mates.

The Bullets have the talent to get the job done but the line looks the safer option.

Suggested Bet: Brisbane Bullets +5.5 at $1.90
