Thursday Night Greyhound Tips & Previews, Thursday 13th May

Tips and previews for a Thursday of greyhound racing from across Australia at Dapto and Sandown

Thursday night only means one thing; greyhound racing.

The best bets under the lights at Dapto and Sandown Park are in.

A great each-way bet comes up in the first at Sandown Park, while there looks to be a near lock at Dapto.

Sandown Race 1

#4 Daph's Ascend

Get the feeling Andrea Dailly has this dog prepared to run enormous race in this Sandown 515-metre heat of the Sapphire Crown.

Daph’s Ascend raced over an unsuitable last start when finding her rivals a little too sharp over 390 metres.

This race looks like it will work out much better for her on the speed map.

Expecting her to land somewhere near the lead when the lids spring open.

She has a very slick 29.48 personal best at this track highlighting her liking for the surroundings of Sandown.

Each-way all day.

Suggested Bet: Daph’s Ascend each-way at $6.5 the win and $2 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 2, 4/ 2, 3, 4/ 2, 3, 4, 8

Sandown Race 5

#7 Lakeview Walter

Lakeview Walter should be able to sprint back onto the winner’s pedestal in this Sandown 515-metre event.

We found the dog that beat him last start but we are siding with him this time around given he should be out of trouble early in the race.

Draws a wide gate after jumping from the squeeze box and never looking likely as odds-on favourite.

If he produces a copy of a his run two starts which was a scintillating 29.15 at this course and distance then the equation is simple; they won’t be beating him.

Suggested Bet: Lakeview Walter win at $2.8

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 7/ 1/ Field

Sandown Park Race 6

#5 Music Event

Going with the chaser that brings in the Lakeview Walter formline to this race.

Has had a fortnight off since his last start which is an obvious query but we have to be with him at the each-way price.

Started a well-backed $1.70 favourite on April 29 at this track and distance but was kept at bay by Lakeview Walter.

If he can jump on terms with them and have a trouble free run then he is a big shout.

Has a nice 29.34 win here from three starts that would see him to hard to top here.

Suggested Bet: Music Event each-way at $8.5 the win and $2.2 the place

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 4 & 5

Dapto Race 5

#5 opal rocks

Faced a hot field at Wentworth Park last start and after drawing box four, she was about to explode into the lead as they cornered but got smashed by the two dogs either side of her.

The race was effectively over as soon as that happened but she arrives into this in a good vein of form prior to that unlucky run.

Drops in class significantly from city grade racing to this provincial event and will be the one they have to chase down here.

The danger is clearly the favourite drawn down in box one, but our selection should have the early pace to cross him.

Suggested Bet: Opal Rocks win at $2.3

Dapto Race 6

#6 Good Odds Cash

Good Odds Cash might be prophetically named here given he is good odds and will probably deliver us cash into our wallets.

He could very well start odds-on in this race given he is the only chaser in the field to have run sub 30 seconds.

His sparkling 29.70 over the Dapto 520-metre circuit is far superior to anything the majority of his rivals have produced in their careers thus far.

Trainer Tracey Hurst went so far as to take him to town last start and in doing so he started a $2.70 elect in a Grade 5 Wentworth Park event.

Was a touch outclassed in that race but did not have much like either.

Best of the night at Dapto.

Suggested Bet: Good Odds Cash win at $2.4
