Check out the preview and best bets of the BetDeluxe NRL Round 9 Game of the Round between the Knights and Tigers.

A huge omission for Newcastle has turned this game into the BetDeluxe Game of the Round.

Best best for head to head, first try scorer and total points markets have been off-loaded and are ready to go!

head to head

May 14th 6:00pm

Magic Round commences with the Wests Tigers and Newcastle Knights on Friday night.

It has not been a magical build-up for the Knights who will be without jet fullback Kalyn Ponga after suffering a groin injury.

Brayden Musgrove has been named despite suffering a rib injury against Canberra while Starford To’a retains his place on the other wing after his late call-up to take the place of Hymel Hunt (hamstring), who is on the extended bench.

A big opportunity represents itself for the Tigers to respond after a disappointing loss the Cowboys last week.

However, the Knights will be sensing the chance to attack with verve given the Tigers’ defensive record to date this season is the worst in its existence.

Suggested Bet: Newcastle Knights -3.5 at $1.96

first try scorer

Alex Johnston/Jordan Rapana

David Nofoaluma and Joey Leilua have been in solid try-scoring form over the last month of fixtures.

Nofoaluma has scored three tries from his last four games and Leilua has been on song with tries in his last two games.

For the Knights, Connor Watson enjoys crossing the try line against the Wests Tigers having scored three tries in his last six outings against them.

Winger Brayden Musgrove is usually the man who the Knights rely on to generate some early run and carry in their contests but he comes into the game under an injury cloud.

Starford To’a will have a say in things as well but Watson looks great value at a big price.

Suggested Bets:
David Nofoaluma first try scorer at $9
Connor Watson first try scorer at $23

total points scored

over 43.5

Given how poor the Wests Tigers defence has been this season this should be high-scoring game.

The Tigers have conceded 262 points through their opening nine rounds this year.

Wests managed to scored 28 points in their loss the Gold Coast Titans which highlights their ability to the scoreboard but at the same time conceded 36 points.

Combine this, with Kalyn Ponga coming out for the Knights, and, defensively, Newcastle look light on numbers as well.

Suggested Bet: Total points scored over 43.5 points at $1.90
