Saturday Night Greyhound Tips & Previews, 7th May

Tips and previews for greyhound racing at The Meadows and Wentworth Park.

It just wouldn’t be a Saturday night without greyhound racing from The Meadows and Wentworth Park.

The BetDeluxe team has gone through the cards at each venue and come up with the best bets to get us through the weekend.

The Meadows Race 1

#2 Ridge

Ridge is the one to be with in this race.

He has a sparkling 29.91 victory to his name at The Meadows 525-metre circuit which he ran two starts ago.

A repeat of that effort will be him winning this race by a space after being a shade unlucky last start.

He drew box six at the track and distance he faces in this race last Saturday and was not able to get the race run on his terms.

From box two, he can follow the dog drawn inside of him through on the rails and then power over the top.

Suggested Bet: Ridge win at $2.5

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 2 & 5

The Meadows Race 5

#8 Circumstance

Circumstance does his best when racing from box eight and it’s the box he draws in this very race over the 525 metres.

If we look back to his last win, which was three starts ago at this course and distance, he took a little while to muster up but appreciated being out wider on the track.

Once he hit top gear, he pinged away to win easily and that could very well be the situation that transpires here.

He has a dog drawn right next door to him who possess good early toe and that will give him something to follow into the first turn.

Suggested Bet: Circumstance win at $4.2

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 7, 8/ 7, 8/ Field

The Meadows Race 6

#7 Double Dipping

George Costanza’s girlfriend’s brother ‘Timmy’ would not be happy about us tipping Double Dipping but nevertheless he represents a nice each-way proposition in this race.

He was well beaten by the the favourite in this race, Fernando Frank, but might just very well be able to turn the tables on that result.

After drawing the inside he was crossed by Fernando Frank last start at what was his first run over the 600-metre distance since late March.

That run should bring him on nicely for this race and he did start almost identical odds to Fernando Frank when they met last week.

Suggested Bet: Double Dipping each-way at $8.5 the win and $2.10 the place

Wentworth Park Race 6 - Evans & SOns Ladies bracelet final

#7 SEcond exit

Not sure how they beat Second Exit if she jumps as cleanly as she did last start.

She exploded away from an inside alley at Wentworth Park over the Wentworth Park 520 metres and left her rivals in her wake to record a sharp 29.73 victory.

Her record from the outside box here speaks for itself with 12 starts from box seven boasting five wins.

Jodie Lord has her racing in career best form and she is poised to take home the $25,000 prize for first place.

Suggested Bet: Second Exit win at $3.2

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 7/ 1, 4, 5/ 1, 4, 5, 6

Wentworth Park race 7 - GOld Cup final

#1 Prim and Proper

This might be fraught with danger but we are going against Stanley Road in this event and siding with Prim and Proper from box one.

His win last start was nothing short of brilliant.

After drawing box seven, he let rip with his big strides and went straight to the front to outstay all his challengers.

He ran a career best 41.98 to smash the clock over the 720-metre Wentworth Park circuit and anything near that performance should probably see him start favourite in this race.

David Smith his him humming along and if he finds the front as easily as he did last start, well, it’s sayonara for the opposition.

Suggested Bet: Prim and Proper win at $3.1
