Previews and best bets as we end Matchweek 19 and stride into Matchweek 20 of the A-League season.

Brisbane Roar face Western United and Perth Glory host Melbourne City to end Matchweek 19 of the A-League as we head into clash between Melbourne Victory and Macarthur FC to begin Matchweek 20.

The best bets, previews and selections of the three games are in and it’s time to get winning!

Brisbane Roar vs. Western United

May 5th 7:05pm

The sixth-placed Western United travel to Moreton Daily Stadium for a battle against eighth-placed Brisbane Roar on Wednesday night.

Both teams come into the game with a string of undefeated games in a row but it is seemingly the home team who bring in the better form.

Prior to being held to a scoreless draw against Wellington, the Roar battered a hapless Central Coast Mariners outfit 4-0.

The Roar continue to hold their ground in the bottom half of the table but do have a host of games in hand to be utilised for a climb up the table.

United, on the other hand, has a few games up its sleeve as well and will be looking to rebound off a controversial 0-0 draw against Adelaide which saw the Video Assistant Referee have its say on yet another outcome this season.

With that result now behind them, United will draw inspiration from its 1-0 win over the Roar earlier this season.

Just another A-League game where we are left splitting hairs.

Prediction: Brisbane Roar 1 Western United 1

Suggested Bet: Draw at $3.5

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Draw
Leg 2: Total goals scored under 2.5
Leg 3: D. Wenzel Halls any time goalscorer
Combined odds = $15

Perth Glory vs. Melbourne City

May 5th 9:20pm

Melbourne City seek to extend its lead atop of the A-League table when it travels to NIB Stadium to face Perth Glory.

City remain undefeated through its last five fixtures after 3-1 win over cellar dweller Newcastle last Thursday.

Jamie Maclaren continued his brilliant season by scoring the sealer against the Jets and in the process brought up his 20th goal of this season.

Perth Glory is going to have find something special from the depths of their playing squad to hold not only Maclaren, but a City side full of the league’s best talent.

There may be a glimmer of hope for the Glory, however, with veteran star midfielder Diego Castro being named to return from a knee injury which has sidelined him for a month.

If he, alongside striker Bruno Fornaroli, can dicate the flow of the game, then maybe Richard Garcia’s men can cause the upset.

Tough to see that happening though given the form Patrick Kisnorbo has his team playing in.

Prediction: Perth Glory 1 Melbourne City 2

Suggested Bet: Melbourne City head to head at $1.60

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Melbourne City head to head
Leg 2: A. Nabbout any time goalscorer
Leg 3: Both teams to score
Combined odds = $3.80

Melbourne Victory vs. Macarthur FC

May 6th 7:05pm

Melbourne Victory will forge on in an attempt to continue revive its’ horrific season when it meets Macarthur FC at AAMI Park on Thursday.

Since the sacking of Grant Brebner, Victory has strung together three much improved performances.

A win against Western Sydney, an unlucky loss against Sydney and, most recently, a 1-1 draw against second-placed Central Coast has Victory poised to strike against a Macarthur squad who have failed to register a win since April 2.

It’s been tough going for the Bulls in the last five fixtures but it’s not all doom and gloom with draws against a high-flying Melbourne City and Perth Glory in Perth better than what they may seem on paper.

This is the first time the two teams meet in A-League history so it is tough to get a form gauge on how the teams match-up.

Victory do look good value here, especially on its’ home deck.

Prediction: Melbourne Victory 1 Macarthur FC 0

Suggested Bet: Melbourne Victory head to head at $3.20
