Greyhound Racing Tips

Thursday Night Greyhound Tips & Previews, Thursday 29th April

Tips and previews for a big card of greyhound racing under lights at Sandown Park and Albion Park.

We’re back at Albion Park and Sandown Park for the best bets ahead of Thursday night greyhound racing.

Let’s get stuck into the previews and line those pockets with cash!

Sandown Park Race 1

#1 Mepunga Ruby

Mepunga Ruby went like a rocket two starts ago when winning over 515 metres at Sandown in a 29.56.

That was a career peak run thus far through three career races and she looks poised to better that despite being beaten a long way at Geelong last start.

Her effort, on paper, registered a sixth-placed finish but she did so over what looks to now be an unsuitable 460-metre affair for a dog of her type of calibre.

The step back up to 515 metres will suit her perfectly and anything near her run two starts ago will see her winning this with plenty left in the tank.

Suggested Bet: Mepunga Ruby win at $2

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 1 & 2

sandown park race 5

#7 Grace's Spirit

Grace’s Spirit was simply brilliant in her 35.24 win at Sandown over the 595-metre circuit last start.

She drew box eight on that occasion and proved far too good for her rivals winning by just over two lengths.

The query on her in that effort was her ability to run a strong race stepping up to the 595 metres of Sandown for the first time.

But she showed her strength and capability by finishing home strongly and that run will give her an improved fitness base to continue her upward spiral.

She draws out wide again, this time in box seven, and should be able to go bang from the black rug!

Suggested Bet: Grace’s Spirit win at $2.3

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 7/ 5, 6 / 5, 6

Sandown Park Race 7

#3 So Predictable

Well, no one could have predicted what happened to So Predictable last start after he took a bad tumble when he was about to strike a winning position.

After drawing box five over the 715 metres at this track, So Predictable was beginning to make a big move into the race when he got smashed and clipped heels.

He failed to finish the race but gets a chance to bounce back into winning form from box three – a box which he has had one start for one win from.

A repeat of his run three starts back at The Meadows over 725 metres will see him very hard to hold out in this race.

Suggested Bet: So Predictable win at $4.2

Suggested Exotic: Boxed F4 – 1, 2, 3, 7

sandown park race 8

#3 Sweet As Emm

The two dogs that dominate the market in this race look to have this one shot to bits, but there is a dog drawn next door to both Music Event and Lakeview Walter which could cause the big upset.

Sweet As Em might just get enough luck in the run to utilize her booming finish burst to chase down the two favourites.

Both Music Event and Lakeview Walter will likely beat her for speed early but that should afford her the rails run just behind the leading pair.

She just needs enough space to work into her top speed and if she is gifted a clear passage, she is the one to be with on an each-way basis.

Suggested Bet: Sweet As Em each-way at $5 the win and $2 the place.

Albion Park Race 6

#2 Pokie Payout

It’s almost as if fate has aligned us to Pokie Payout again.

She was entered in for race six at Albion Park last Thursday and was set to run from box two but was subsequently scratched from the race and elected to race her in a much harder Open Grade race.

The five length defeat she suffered in such a race actually reads well for this drop down in grade.

She has popped up again in race six at the same course and distance she was scheduled to run in last week and she has also drawn box two again!

Best bet of the night at Albion Park.

Suggested Bet: Pokie Payout win at $2.6
