Melbourne Victory vs. Western Sydney Wanderers
April 23rd 7:05pm
Melbourne Victory begin life without Grant Brebner after he was sacked following another embarrassing performance against Melbourne City last week.
Steve Kean takes over as interim coach with his side welcoming the Western Sydney Wanderers to Marvel Stadium in a bid to turn their horrific campaign around.
Victory were smashed 7-0 by City to make it back-to-back derby thumpings after being hammered by City 6-0 last month.
It is a situation the Victory have never been in throughout it’s illustrious A-League tenure but it get’s an opportunity against a Wanderers team who is struggling for form itself.
Prediction: Melbourne Victory 1 Western Sydney Wanderers 1
Suggested Bet: Draw at $4
Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Both teams to score
Leg 2: C. McManaman to score anytime
Combined odds = $3.90
Central Coast Mariners vs. Sydney FC
April 24th 5:05pm
The Central Coast Mariners will be looking to regain top spot when it takes on Sydney FC at home on Saturday evening.
Alen Stajic’s men relinquished first place to Melbourne City after a 1-0 defeat against Western United and now sit another season-defining crunch game against a Sky Blue outfit who were lucky to get away with a draw against Adelaide.
The 2020 premiers have gone undefeated through their last four fixtures but come into this game having thrown away a 2-0 lead against the Reds and will be without right back Rhyan Grant who shown a red card in the 2-2 parity.
Central Coast have already pocketed victory over Sydney this season following a 2-0 victory back on January 22.
Alou Kuol found the scoresheet that night for the Mariners and he, alongside veteran striker Matt Simon, will the danger men in this contest.
Prediction: Central Coast Mariners 3 Sydney FC 1
Suggested Bet: Central Coast Mariners head to head at $2.75
Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Central Coast Mariners head to head
Leg 2: Both teams to score
Leg 3: M. Simon to score anytime
Combined odds = $6
Macarthur FC vs. Melbourne City
April 24th 7:10pm
Newly appointed league leaders Melbourne City make the trek up north to face Macarthur FC in a bid to hold fort atop of the table.
City was simply a class above its cross-town rival Melbourne Victory last week and eclipsed its 6-0 derby win in March with a 7-0 thrashing, which ultimately proved the end of Grant Brebner’s tenure.
Macarthur, despite not winning a game in its last three fixtures, will be no easy beat.
City do hold sway over the Bulls this season having swept them aside with a 3-0 victory at AAMI Park earlier this season thanks to a Jamie Maclaren double, but a return home for the Bulls should see an improved performance.
Prediction: Macarthur FC 2 Melbourne City 2
Suggested Bet: Draw at $3.8
Brisbane Roar vs. Perth Glory
April 25th 2:05pm
The in form Brisbane Roar play host to Perth Glory at Moreton Daily Stadium on Anzac Day.
The Roar have notched up two wins in a row and do still have a handful of games up their sleeve as they attempt climb into the top six.
A 2-1 victory over Macarthur was followed up by a 2-1 win over the Western Sydney Wanderers with Riku Danzaki on target in both outings.
Perth Glory, however, has suffered a contrasting fate in its last four fixtures.
Three losses and a draw is all the Glory have managed in the last fortnight of football and a road trip to Queensland does not make things easier.
The attacking duo of Danzaki and Dylan Wenzel-Halls has proven a headache for many a defence this season, and it’s likely to do the same again in this match.
Prediction: Brisbane Roar 2 Perth Glory 1
Suggested Bet: Brisbane Roar head to head at $1.85
