Greyhound Racing Tips

Thursday Night Greyhound Tips & Previews, Thursday 22nd April

Tips and previews for a big card of greyhound racing under lights at Sandown Park and Albion Park.

Albion Park and Sandown Park play host for Thursday night greyhound racing.

It’s an early start to proceedings for us at Sandown with one of the best bets coming up in race one of the 12-card program.

Good luck, punters!

Sandown Park Race 1

#8 Reloaded

Reloaded has been the bridesmaid the last three starts but he’s luck might be turning.

Think he gets the chance to finally break through for victory here drawing box eight and stepping up to a more suitable distance range.

He has drawn box four in his last two starts over the 450-metre and 460-metre circuits at Shepparton and Warragul, and was unable to find the front on both occasions.

Box eight should allow to hit his stride without being impeded and if he can replicate the 29.65 runner-up finish at Sandown on April 4 then he will be hard to keep out.

Suggested Bet: Reloaded each-way at $6.5 the win and $2 the place

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 2 & 8

#7 Assassinate

Assassinate could be the one to sniper off the two favoured runners in this race despite being a beaten force at the Sandown 515-metre circuit course last Sunday.

He was defeated narrowly by Hill Top Jack despite starting much shorter than him in the market and Hill Top Jack bobs up in this race as well.

Both dogs are identical odds here, but the set up looks to favour Assassinate with a whole heap of dogs vying for the early lead and the potential for there to be a bit of carnage.

Assassinate will be out deep on the track minding his own business and hopefully he can come across to lead with his gunning acceleration.

Getting a good each-way price to find out what he can produce.

Suggested Bet: Assassinate each-way at $7 the win and $2 the place

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 3, 7/ 2, 3, 7/ 2, 3, 5, 7

Sandown Park Race 4

#8 Angel Glow

Got checked terribly at The Meadows last start when tailing off to finish last.

Forget she ever went around that night and now she pops up at Sandown Park where she enjoys racing having jumped three times at this track and distance for two wins.

Box eight looks like it will be beneficial to her and it will give her ample opportunity to wind up her gears and top speed without being cleaned up and smashed in the run by other dogs.

Her effort on March 13, which was subsequently the most recent time she has worn the pink rug, resulted in a one length victory.

Definitely ready to jump back on top of the podium with a win here.

Suggested Bet: Angel Glow each-way at $5 the win and $1.75 the place

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 1, 8/ 1, 8/ Field

sandown park race 10

#1 Invictus Rising

We backed Invictus Rising last start and despite starting a well backed favourite, nothing really went his way.

Gets a big chance to atone in this race drawing a box he is unbeaten from.

Looking back his win three starts ago prior to being beaten in his last two starts, he ran a sharp 29.28 to win over the Sandown 515 metres and anything in that vicinity will be winning this race.

Trainer Harry Manolitsis has placed him perfectly to get career win number six on the board.

Best of the night at Sandown.

Suggested Bet: Invictus Rising win at $2.4

Albion Park Race 6

#2 Pokie Payout

His name might not ring true in the punting world but Pokie Payout looks the best of the night at Albion Park.

He has not been able to notch up a victory at his last five starts but a lot of those efforts have been either luckless or poorly set-up races for him.

Love the fact he stays at the 520-metre distance range with his last start at this course and distance being a brave runner-up finish behind See Them Try in 30.05.

Running anywhere near that time against this opposition will see him hard in the finish.

Best of the night up north in Queensland.

Suggested Bet: Pokie Payout win at $3.5
