Weekend Racing Preview & Tips, Rest of Australia April 16th

All the Best Tips, Predictions and Form Analysis from BetDeluxe's Wizard of Odds for the rest of Australia

The Wizard of Odds is off to Eagle Farm and Morphettville for the best of the rest ahead of another huge weekend of horse racing action.

Let’s get stuck into it!

Eagle Farm Race 8

#2 Master Jamie

It would be a valid argument to say Master Jamie is probably better suited doing his racing over further than this 1000-metre assignment he faces first-up, however, he is a big winning hope in this race.

He simply loves racing at Eagle Farm having won three times at this four attempts but if we look back to his run on September 1 in 2020, he showed a sensational turn of foot to win over 1050 metres at Rockhampton.

His barrier trial leading up into this race at Eagle Farm showed all the signs that he will be revved up enough to win this race.

His gate speed is his largest asset and he will bounce to front here from barrier one and hopefully prove too hard to run down.

Suggested Bet: Master Jamie win at $4.6

Morphettville Race 6

#1 Instant Celebrity

Instant Celebrity was exactly that with punters in his first preparation after stringing together four impressive victories in a row and topping it all off with a third-placed finish in the hotly contested Group 1 Thousand Guineas.

She has been given time to grow and spell since that run and she looks to have come back in a fine vein of form as seen in her sharp trial win over the 1000 metres at this track.

Jockey Kayla Crowther knows his three-year-old filly very well having ridden her two to her two career victories last preparation and now she gets the chance to three from three on the Phillp Stokes-trained galloper.

The stable obviously has bigger and better things in mind for her but this is looks like a perfect race to springboard off.

Suggested Bet: Instant Celebrity win at $2.9

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 8

Morphettville race 7

#6 Flying mascot

Don’t think we are yet to see what the ceiling is for this three-year-old filly from the Tom Dabernig & Ben Hayes stable.

Her two runs in this preparation have been full of merit.

First-up she was very heavily backed at Sandown over 1300 metres when leading all of the way at a solid tempo to just hold on from the fast finishing D’Jumbuck.

She was then asked to make the step up to Saturday grade for the first time in her career and she handled herself well to run second behind the smart Captain Spud after doing a bit of work in the run.

Bred by Tavistock, the rise to 1800 metres will be no problem for her and she takes all luck out of the equation by putting herself up on the pace.

With a nice base of fitness being third-up into this campaign she looks ready to run to her best.

Suggested Bet: Flying Mascot each-way at $15 the win and $4.2 the place

Morphettville Race 8

#2 kemalpasa

He produced a massive run in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate back in February to finish runner-up behind Portland Sky and Celebrity Queen.

The Richard Jolly & Chantelle Jolly-trained sprinter looks to have a found perfect race to get his 12th career win.

Barrier three will afford jockey Jake Toeroek an easy passage into the race and it looks one of the easiest races this five-year-old gelding has raced in for a while.

Looking back at this last run at the Morphettville 1100-metre course, he bumped into Behemoth – who would give this field an absolute galloping lesson.

His effort behind Behemoth, despite being by three lengths, more than capable of winning this race with ease.

Stablemates Hey Doc and Savatoxl should come across for their wide barriers and that will gave Kemalpasa a beautiful trail in behind the lead speed.

Just get him off the Jake and let the horse do the rest!

Suggested Bet: Kemalpasa win at $3
