Greyhound Racing Tips

Thursday Night Greyhound Tips & Previews, Thursday 15th April

Tips and previews for a big card of greyhound racing under lights at Sandown Park.

Thursday night greyhound chasing and racing from Sandown Park!

Our team has hunted down the best bets on the 12-race program to make finding winners an easy task for the punters.

Let’s spring those lids and hunt down some Thursday night winners!

Sandown Park Race 1

#7 Hamillson

What a run by Hamillson on debut!

Loved the way this dog hunted the bunny at the Sandown 515-metre circuit after pinging the lids from box four and booting away to win by nearly four lengths.

He ran a quick 29.70 which is the best time anything in this field has produced.

With the race experience as well as the likely improvement to his fitness, expect him to run sub 29.70 this time around and be super hard to beat again.

Looks a greyhound on the rise and trainer Richard Hill might have a good one on his hands.

Suggested Bet: Hamillson win at $2.4

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 7

sandown park race 3

#7 Invictus Rising

Invictus Rising has taken a liking to running at Sandown Park with first two runs at the track yielding a win and a third-placed finish.

It was his win at Sandown two starts ago – which was subsequently his first ever run at the track – that stood out.

The Harry Manolitsis-trained two-year-old dog jumped straight to the lead and scorched the track to run a blazing 29.28.

He was a touch unlucky last start after running that personal best but he gets a race where he can wind up his  gears from an ideal box.

If he crosses, and leads easily, then another personal best might be on the cards.

Go you good thing!

Suggested Bet: Invictus Rising win at $2.80

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 7/ 3/ Field

Sandown Park Race 4

#2 Music Event

We’ll definitely be singing if Music Event can get the job done in this race.

He has been unlucky in most of his recent runs but gets his chance to atone for his winless run of late.

The Michael Carter-trained chaser loves racing at Sandown Park over the 515 metres, boasting three wins and a minor placing from five attempts.

He is also undefeated when jumping from box two with three career starts in the white rug for three wins.

With a vacant box to his immediate outside, he should be able to get a passage free run into the race and bounce back.

Suggested Bet: Music Event win at $3.70

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 2/ 1, 5/ 1, 5

sandown park race 5

#8 taken

This race looks a two-dog affair between Taken and Papi Go Fast.

Going to side with Taken who draws the perfect box for a dog of his racing style.

He loves to steer out wide and race outside of runners. Having drawn box eight, he can do exactly that.

His record in the pink blanket reads eight starts for four wins and three minor placings.

If we look back to his last run at Sandown, he looked to clearly resent drawing box one despite always being near the lead in the race.

He won’t be the fastest away when the lids open, but once he hits stride out deep on the track he should be able to cross with ease and career away to victory.

Suggested Bet: Taken at $2.3

Suggested Exotic: Exacta 8 & 6

Sandown Park Race 7

#7 So Predictable

Staying debuts do not get much better than what So Predictable produced at the Meadows over 725 metres last start.

Based on that performance, he clearly looks like a mad-railer. Every time one of his rivals came off the rail, there he was, darting up the inside and hunting the rail to make up ground.

He went through his gears beautifully to chase down Shima Glow and would end up winning by just over two lengths in a time of 42.88.

Think he can measure right up to the likes of Fernando Cazz and Aston Ulysses in this race who come up the two well-fancied favourites.

With natural improvement he should be able to shave a bit of time off that last start winning run and be right in this race.

Suggested Bet: So Predictable each-way at $5 the win and $1.60 the place
