Tips and Previews for some of the best upcoming NBL Action

A big weekend of NBL action is ahead and it all starts with the SEM Phoenix playing the Illawarra Hawks at 7:30pm tonight.

Best bets have been analyse by our NBL time and it’s time to get the ball moving and get our bets on!

SEM Phoenix @ Illawarra Hawks

April 9th 7:30pm

Third plays sixth when the South East Melbourne Phoenix travel to the WIN Entertainment Centre to battle with the Illawarra Hawks.

Mitch Creek led the way for the Phoenix in its 92-85 win over the New Zealand Breakers last Sunday with a 24-point and eight-rebound display.

Meanwhile, the Hawks were handed their third loss in a row when it fell 88-82 against the Brisbane Bullets on Wednesday.

It was the Phoenix who began the losing run for the Hawks when accounting for them with a 95-63 thrashing as Ryan Broekhoff showed his class with a 26-point display.

The Hawks, even though at home, would need to produce a special performance to halt the winning momentum of the Phoenix.

Predicting this to be another Phoenix win as it continues the climb up the NBL ladder.

Suggested Bet: SEM Phoenix to cover the -4.5 point spread at $1.87

perth wildcats @ adelaide 36ers

april 10th 5:30pm

The Perth Wildcats will be aiming to keep up its winning form and its spot atop of the NBL standings when it faces the Adelaide 36ers on Saturday night.

Facing the best team in the league with the worst defence is not often a recipe for success and that is the situation the 36ers find themselves in.

The home team has conceded a whopping 1,882 points this year which the most any team has given up to date.

To make matters worse, Bryce Cotton was in elite form during the Wildcats’ 73-69 win over the Sydney Kings yesterday with a vintage display yielding 23 points, six assists and five rebounds.

Not sure how the 36ers get close in this one.

Suggested Bet: Perth Wildcats head to head at $1.35

New zealand breakers @ Melbourne United

April 10th 8:00pm

Melbourne United host the New Zealand Breakers at John Cain Arena for a Saturday night prime time tip-off.

United are locked away in a stoush atop of the table with the Perth Wildcats and kept itself within striking distance after a 95-85 triumph over the Cairns Taipans last Friday.

Jock Landale notched up a double-double in the 10-point win with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while veteran Chris Goulding chipped in with 16 points of his own.

New Zealand, however, have been left behind at the bottom of the NBL table with only five wins but do have three to four games in hand on most teams.

Still, it would need to win all of its in hand matches to climb above Adelaide who sit a spot above in third last place.

The Breakers did show some fight in the 92-85 loss against the SEM Phoenix on Sunday as centre Colton Iverson lifted his side upon his shoulders with a 26-point, 22-rebound solo effort in the seven-point defeat.

Iverson another performance like that as well as his teammates to lift another notch if they have any chance of causing the unlikely upset.

United just have too much on the line at the moment to cough a game against a Breakers team who is all but likely to finish in the bottom half of the table.

Suggested Bet: Melbourne United to cover the -5.5 line at $1.89
