Check out the preview and best bets of the BetDeluxe NRL Round 4 Game of the Round between the Roosters and Warriors

The clash between the Sydney Roosters and New Zealand Warriors headlines our NRL Round 4 Game of the Round this weekend.

Head to head, first try scorer and total points scored previews are all here!

head to head

April 4th 6:15pm

The Sydney Roosters will be looking to rectify its 10-point loss against the South Sydney Rabbitohs last week when it hosts the New Zealand Warriors at the SCG on Sunday night.

The Roosters were left battered and wounded after Luke Keary and Lachlan Lam went down with injuries and if the task to get back into winners list was made any harder, they face a Warriors team who are on the high of an incredible come-from-behind win over against the Canberra Raiders last week.

Staring at a 19-point deficit, the Warriors flicked the switch and turned what looked like a certain defeat into a three-point win.

Both teams looks set to make a flurry of changes with Victor Radley being declared fit for the Roosters and Marcelo Montoya is likely to make his club debut for the Warriors.

Sam Walker and Drew Hutchison will also take their spots in the Roosters squad to replace the injured duo of Keary and Lam.

The Roosters have had great success over the Warriors in recent fixtures having won by an average of nearly 26 points in the last three meetings.

Most recently, it was an 18-10 win in July 2020 which saw the Roosters impose a second-half shut down of the Warriors.

While there seems to be little value at the head to head markets, the line looks to be where the value lies, in particular the plus.

The Warriors seemed to bridge the gap on the Roosters last season and they have arguably improved again this year.

Suggested Bet: New Zealand Warriors to cover the +7.5 line at $1.83

first try scorer

Tedesco & Maumalo

Sydney has scored the first try twice in its opening three fixtures this season with James Tedesco achieving that feat both times.

The Warriors possess an identical record in its opening three games as well but has split the first try scoring between Bayley Sironen and more recently Addin Fonua-Blake.

If we scroll back to the 2020 fixture between the two clubs, it was Ken Maumalo who managed to cross the try line first and he represents good value in the current markets.

Happy to be with Tedesco and Maumalo to nail the first try in this game.

Suggested Bets:
James Tedesco first try scorer at $10
Ken Maumalo first try scorer at $11

total points scored

unders

Sydney has been involved in some high-scoring affairs in recent rounds with six of its last eight matches in the NRL going over the total points line set by the market.

The current line is set at 42.5 and if you took the form of both the Roosters and Warriors last week then we would be leaning towards the overs here.

However, the clash between the two squads last year only registered 28 points in dry conditions.

While both teams clearly have great scoring options in attack, there might be an added focus on defence given the ease with which both sides conceded last week at various stages of their respective games.

Expecting this one to go under 42.5 points.

Suggested Bet: Total points scored under 42.5 points at $1.85
