Western United vs. Melbourne City

April 1st 5:35pm

Western United are looking to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat and climb the Australian A-League table when they host high-flying Melbourne City.

With Western playing their home matches at three different venues during the 2020-21 campaign, Thursday’s encounter will not seem like an away day for the ‘visitors’ as the match is to be played at their home stadium AAMI Park.

Western United suffered their third defeat in four matches when they lost 2-1 away to newly-promoted Macarthur last weekend.

Melbourne City recorded its second victory against Western Sydney Wanderers in the month of March as its comfortably won 4-1 on home soil last Friday.

Despite falling behind in the 21st minute through Wanderers forward Bernie Ibini, a brace from Craig Noone as well as strikes from Andrew Nabbout and Jamie Maclaren sealed another three points for Patrick Kisnorbo’s side.

Maclaren has been incredible this season and leads the A-League goal scoring charts with 12 goals from 12 matches.

If he keeps his form up, City will charge to its seventh straight victory.

Prediction: Western United 1 Melbourne City 2

Suggested Bet: Melbourne City head to head at $1.55

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Melbourne City head to head
Leg 2: Jamie Maclaren to score any time
Leg 3: Both teams to score
Combined odds = $2.90

Central Coast Mariners vs. Adelaide United

April 1st 7:40pm

The Australian A-League’s top two lock horns on Thursday when Central Coast Mariners host Adelaide United at the Central Coast Stadium.

Alen Stajcic’s side have been at the summit for the last 10 weeks, but could be knocked off their perch if the visitors were to win their seventh successive game.

After an impressive run of six victories in eight matches, league leaders Central Coast Mariners have since failed to win any of their last three league games and now face the stern task of playing Adelaide Untied to try and buck that winless run.

Adelaide United extended their winning run to six matches after a narrow 1-0 home victory against Sydney FC last weekend.

It was a cagey affair at the Hindmarsh Stadium up until the 76th minute and then Kusini Yengi was brought down inside the penalty area, with Craig Goodwin sending the keeper the wrong way to seal all three points.

The Mariners will put in a much improved performance at home against the Reds but the value looks to be with a stalemate in this match.

Prediction: Central Coast 2 Adelaide United 2

Suggested Bet: Draw at $3.5

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Draw head to head
Leg 2: Both teams to score
Combined odds = $4.10

Macarthur FC vs. Perth Glory

April 2nd 6:05pm

The in form Macarthur Bulls welcome the Perth Glory to Campbelltown Stadium for its Matchweek 15 clash on Good Friday.

The Bulls were able to reverse its losing form with consecutive wins against Western United and Wellington Phoenix as it continues its press towards a finals berth in its inaugural year in the A-League.

With a handful of games up its sleeve compared to opponents above it, the Glory enter this contest on the back of a resilient 2-1 victory Newcastle which saw it survive a red card to Jonathan Aspropotamitis.

Glory will still be without the talented Chris Ikonomidis who continues his recovery from a knee injury but does have the services of Bruno Fornaroli.

Think the Glory represent a good bet at the head to head here. They look a side who are united, especially after holding on for the win with 10 men against the Jets.

Prediction: Macarthur 1 Perth Glory 3

Suggested Bet: Perth Glory head to head at $3.20

Melbourne Victory vs. Sydney FC

march 28th 6:10pm

In what has been the worst start to A-League campaign for Melbourne Victory since its inception in 2004, The Big Blue could not have anymore importance on it when Sydney travel down to Melbourne.

Grant Brebnar has been lost for words on many ocassions this season as Victory struggle to get off the bottom of the table, but there were signs of a mini resurgence after holding league leaders Central Coast to 1-1 draw on the weekend.

Regining premier Sydney FC will clearly be smelling blood but do come into this game after a disappointing 1-0 defeat against the high flying Adelaide on Sunday.

Steve Corica has struggled to get winning consistency out of his men this year as they seek back-to-back trophies.

The Big Blue always makes for a impetuous viewing from all A-League fans and even though both squads are no where near the top of the table, the pressure to register a win has never been greater.

It would take a mad man to tip Victory confidently in this game, but the signs of a potential second half of the season turn around might have been unveiled against the Mariners.

Prediction: Melbourne Victory 2 Sydney FC 1

Suggested Bet: Melbourne Victory head to head at $4.50
