Greyhound Racing Tips

Saturday Night Greyhound Tips & Previews, 20th March

Tips and previews for greyhound racing at Shepparton and Wentworth Park.

After a huge set of greyhound tips on Thursday that went four winners out of six selections the greyhound tips roll on!

Saturday night greyhound chasing and racing is back.

We delve into the Shepparton Cup meeting as well as the Golden Easter Egg heats from Wentworth Park.

Shepparton Race 3

#7 Ivy Izmir

Ivy Izmir is the greyhound who is fit, firing and ready to run to her best again.

Her last start win at Warrnambool was a sharply run 22.06 over the 390-metre start where she pinged the traps and led all the way.

She is up against an odds-on favourite called Zambora Lou who is the clear danger in the race but he does have the caveat of being first-up and our selection has fitness on her side.

If Ivy Izmir jumps as she usually does and finds the lead with ease, the favourite is going to have a big task to chase her down.

Go Ivy!

Suggested Bet: Ivy Izmir each way at $5.5 the win and $1.60 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 7/ 4/ Field

Shepparton Race 6

#6 Jim Zarr Dashian

Jim Zarr Dashian ran at the Shepparton track for this first time in his career last start and was brave in defeat when running third to Papi Go Fast.

He lost a bit momentum at a critical stage of the race but still had the audacity to chase hard and hit the line with a head full of steam.

He drew box five that night and draws box six in this race which should hopefully afford him a bit more room to be able to build up his stride.

He’s tallied up a great record at this distance range as well with 13 starts registering six wins and five minor placings.

If the dogs in the red and pink rugs fail to live up to the hype and their current market price, he will be the one to run them down.

Can be with him on each-way basis.

Suggested Bet: Jim Zarr Dashian each-way at $5 the win and $1.75 the place

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 6, 8/ 1, 6, 8/ 1, 6, 7, 8

Shepparton Race 7

#1 Rostered Off

Rostered Off has this race at his mercy.

He has been in white hot form in these middle distance races for quite some time now and expect nothing to change here.

Draws the perfect box to lead and power away from his opposition late.

His last start at Sale over 650 metres was run in 37.49 where he led all the way and never looked back.

The main challenger in this race looks to be Midnight Force who is drawn in box eight, but he has never won a race in anything over 600 metres.

Despite there not being a huge amount of value in backing Rostered Off to win, taking him in an exacta with Zipping Miranda who can beat Midnight Force home looks the way to go.

Suggested Bet: Exacta 1 & 2

Shepparton Race 8

#2 Catch The thief

Catch The Thief just loves racing at Shepparton and he is the deserved top pick in this, the 2021 edition of the Shepparton Cup.

His last start win after two months away from racing was a sight to behold and made it three starts over the Shepparton 450-metre circuit for three wins.

His mid-race burn and sustained sprint had his rivals chasing nothing but his backside as he went on to record his 21st career victory in a very quick 25.01.

Jason Thompson has him going great guns at the moment and that last start run will only benefit him from a fitness point of view.

Just needs to step away a little bit cleaner than he did last start, but given he was out of racing for a little while, that last start win should sharpen him up.

Best bet of the night at Shepparton.

Suggested Bet: Catch The Thief win at $3.2

Suggested Exotic: – Boxed Trifecta – 4/ 5/ 1

Wentworth Park race 2

#3 Super Estrella

Super Estrella is going to have to be at her very best to defeat the freak Group 1 champion Tommy Shelby and there is every chance she will be.

She has the advantage of racing sooner from race to race than Tommy Shelby does who is travelling across the border from Melbourne and may just need the run to really bring him to his best.

Her last start win at Wentworth Park over the 525 metres saw her chase hard late in the race and lunge at the line to get her nose down for a photo-finish victory over Redshift Seven.

Should be afforded an identical run in this race as well with Redshift Seven kicking up on the inside allowing Super Estrella to follow him into the race.

Suggested Bet: Super Estrella win at $5

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 3, 8/ 3, 8/ 3, 4, 8

wentworth park race 4

#1 Avalanche

We tipped Avalanche to get the job done last week but he just found Aston Zodiac a little bit too sharp for him as the pair gapped the field.

Happy to give him another go here, this time, against the well fancied $1.60 favourite Shima Shine who is clearly the one to catch.

Avalanche was having his first ever start at the Wentworth Park track and now that he has settled into the surroundings he should only benefit from that run.

Shima Shine will likely jump in front, Avalanche will follow him into the race and hopefully prove too good in the concluding stages.

Suggested Bet: Avalanche win at $3.7

Suggested Exotic: Quinella 1 & 2
