Bayern Munch vs. lazio
march 18th 7:00am
Bayern Munich all but put to rest this Round of 16 tie with a thumping 4-1 victory over Lazio as the teams come face to face for the second leg at the Allianz Arena.
Veteran striker Robert Lewandowski was the catalyst for a first-half barrage of the Lazio net with a ninth minute strike being matched by a 24th minute goal to Jamal Musiala and a 42nd minute effort from Leroy Sane.
Matters only got worse for the home team as Franceso Acerbi turned in an own goal just after half time. A consolation goal two minutes later to Joaquin Correa salvaged some pride back for the Lazio but the damage had already been done.
With the visitors needing a minimum of four goals to pull off what would be one of the greatest comebacks in Champions League history, Lazio will be forced to commit bodies forward with nothing to lose and nobody expecting them to pull off a miracle.
However, Bayern, with their pace on the flanks going forward, may well prove lethal on the counter attack and when considering the offensive firepower that Hansi Flick’s side possesses, it would be a surprise if the hosts were not to record another comfortable victory over Lazio.
Expecting this to be another victory for Bayern as it heads to towards the Champions League title defence.
Prediction: Bayern Munich 3 Lazio 1

chelsea vs. athletico madrid
march 18th 7:00am
Chelsea take a slender 1-0 advantage over Atletico Madrid ahead of the second leg at Stamford Bridge on Thursday morning.
An acrobatic 67th minute wonder strike from Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud put the Blues in the box seat with an all important away goal.
Chelsea dominated proceedings at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium as it controlled 64% of the possession and did not allow the home team to have a single shot on target.
In what was a frustrating night for Diego Simieone, the Atletico head coach may take some solace in the fact that the tie was not put beyond reach given Chelsea’s stranglehold on the first leg.
History is on the side of Chelsea to progress through: the Blues have never been knocked out of a two-legged tie in the European competition when winning a first leg away from home (progressed in all 13 ties).
Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel would also be buoyed by his record against Spanish opponents which reads two wins and three draws from five games.
The league form of both teams saw identical scorelines over the weekend.
A goalless stalemate was dealt to Chelsea by Leeds United while Athletico were none the better against Getafe and also played out a scoreless parity.
Nevertheless, this game will have both sets of fans and punters biting their nails and rocking in their seats.
Chelsea have improved immensely under Tuchel and should be able to get the job done at home.
Prediction: Chelsea 2 Atletico Madrid 1
Suggested Bet: Chelsea head to head at $2.30
Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Both teams to score
Leg 2: Total goals scored over 2.5
Leg 3: Olivier Giroud anytime goal scorer
Combined odds = $4.75
