NBA Tips and Previews, Thursday 11th March

Tips, Previews and all you need ahead of Thursday's action

After the NBA’s best talent showed its brilliance during All-Star Day earlier in the week, the league action is back again with two games set for tip-off today.

The Grizzlies face the Wizards and the Spurs head to Dallas.

Time to slam dunk the best bets yet again!

The Washington Wizards have an inter-conference meeting with the Memphis Grizzlies awaiting them on the other side of the All-Star break on Wednesday night.

These two teams met up for the first time this season over a week ago in Washington, where the Grizzlies soared to a 125-111 victory.

Memphis fell in a heartbreaker to the Milwaukee Bucks before the break, while the Wizards upset a Los Angeles Clippers team with both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George on the floor.

A simple search of the old Google engine would bring a million stories of how, when and where Wizards star guard Bradley Beal could be traded. We can stop with all of the futuristic talks about what he could be. Not only was he selected to the NBA All-Star team for a third time, but he got the nod as a starter.

The man is a superstar in every sense of the word.

But he’s playing for a terrible team right now. The Wizards are no closer to competing in the Eastern Conference, and they would probably be better off cashing in on the Beal sweepstakes from some desperate contender sooner rather than later. A move hasn’t happened yet, but as long as the birds are chirping, the possibility is still out there.

Beal recently gave the Wizards 33 points in an upset win over the Clippers ahead of the All-Star break and faces another tough challenge here having to front up against the might of Ja Morant.

Washington will need to hope it does not have another defensive meltdown as it did when it gave up 125 points to the Grizzlies in the first meeting over a week ago.

Morant controlled the game and did as he please in the Grizzlies’ win.

We expect this to be a win to the Grizzlies at home but it will be closer than last time.

Suggested Bet: Washington Wizards to cover the +3.5 point spread at $1.86

Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Washington Wizards to cover the +3.5 point spread
Leg 2: Bradley Beal over 31.5 points
Leg 3: Total points scored under 237.5
Combined odds = $5.75

The San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks begin the second half of their NBA season on Thursday afternoon at the American Airlines Centre.

The Spurs are coming off of a disappointing 107-102 loss to the Thunder last Thursday, but their roster will be back to nearly full strength after dealing with absences due to COVID-19 protocols heading into the All-Star break.

The Mavericks are heading into this clash after an 87-78 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder last week, and have now won nine of their last 11 games.

The Mavericks beat the Spurs 122-117 in San Antonio in the only prior meeting between these teams this season which will give them even more confidence to make it 10 wins from 12 fixtures.

The Spurs have one of the best defensive backcourt duos in the league with Dejounte Murray and Derrick White in tandem, but they haven’t had much time together on the court due to injuries and COVID-19 protocols.

When the Spurs lost to the Mavericks in San Antonio in January, Luka Doncic went beast mode with 36 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds.

However, White missed that game due to injury while Murray suffered an injury in the first minute and did not return.

Their defense on Doncic will be key if the Spurs pull off a road upset.

Suggested Bet: San Antonio Spurs to cover the +3.5 point spread at $1.90

Suggested Same Game Multi:

Leg 1: San Antonio Spurs to cover the +4.5 point spread
Leg 2: Luka Doncic over 31.5 points
Leg 3: Total points scored over 226.5
Combined Odds = $6.5
