Greyhound Racing Tips

Thursday Night Greyhound Tips & Previews, 11th March

Tips and previews for greyhound racing at Sandown Park.

We return to Sandown Park for the standard Thursday night meeting under lights.

It’s an intriguing 12-race card with some short-priced favourites looking vulnerable and our team has bookended the program with the best bets.

Let’s spring those lids and hunt down some Thursday night winners!

Sandown Park Race 1

#1 Kinson Bale

It’s a battle of the country form lines when our top pick Kinson Bale takes on hot favourite Aston Fastnet.

Kinson Bale only knows one way of racing: ping the lids, jettison into stride and leave his rivals in his wake.

After a runner-up debut run, Kinson Bale has put together two impressive victories over the 450 metre circuit at Shepparton.

The rise to 515 metres looks to be right up his alley as well and he should be able to hold out Aston Fastnet who will be looking to cross from out deep on the course.

Kinson Bale looks to possess enough early speed to hold onto the lead and boot clear.

Suggested Bet: Kinson Bale win at $4.6

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 1, 8/ 1, 6, 8/ 1, 2, 6, 8

sandown park race 3

#1 sunset milo

Sunset Milo is a box one bandit!

His record from the cherry rug reads six starts for three wins and three minor placings.

He marked a return to winning form with a sharp 30.14 win at Cranbourne over 525 metres last start after zipping away from box one and proving too good for challengers.

The favourite, Mr America, has drawn his immediate outside in box two and is clearly the main danger, however, we believe Mr America is priced to the class he has been racing in recently rather than his recent achievements over this distance range.

Sunset Milo looks the value in this one.

Suggested Bet: Sunset Milo win at $4

Suggested Exotic: 1, 8/ 1, 8/ Field

sandown park race 4

#2 destruction

He raced on three-day backup last start and belted his opposition with a very sharp 29.40 victory at this course and distance on Sunday.

Having drawn box two on that occasion, he draws the same box on Thursday, races on yet another quick backup and will get an identical run to his last start.

Robert Camilleri clearly has his dog loving his racing at the moment and as a lightly-raced prospect he will only improve the more he races.

With nine career starts resulting in four wins and two minor placings, he will make it five wins from 10 starts on Thursday.

Keep an eye out on the clock if he gets a clear passage and follow him as he progresses through his grades.

Suggested Bet: Destruction win at $1.5

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta 2/ 3, 5/ 3, 5, 8

sandown park race 7

#8 tyler durden

If you want to see a dog who needs to draw the outside go watch the replay of his last start.

The Jeffrey Britton-trained dog drew down in box two and was looking to get outside of runners as soon as the lids opened.

He was severely hampered early in the run just as he was getting his revs and big engine towards top speed.

When he eventually hit full pelt, he flew home to finish fourth.

Box eight is the ideal draw for a dog of his racing pattern and with a clean run to the first bend, as we presume he will get, he will be winning this race.

Suggested Bet: Tyler Durden win at $3.7

Suggested Exotic: – Boxed Trifecta – 3/ 5/ 7

sandown park race 8

#2 faithy bale

Faithy Bale was brave in defeat behind the smart chaser Gotham Duke last start at Horsham over 485 metres.

The pair gapped the rest of the field and now Faithy Bale returns to Sandown Park, which has proven a fruitful hunting ground for him.

His 18 career starts at the Sandown Park 515 metre circuit have registered five wins and five minor placings and his record from box two reads six starts for four wins.

His most recent run at Sandown was a desperately unlucky run from box seven behind one of the hottest prospects of Australian greyhound racing, Fernando Bluey.

Suggested Bet: Faithy Bale win at $4.4

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 2, 5/ 2, 5, 8/ 2, 5, 6, 8

sandown park race 10

#5 Shanlyn Bear

Shanlyn Bear had his first attempt over 515 metres last start and the run was full of merit.

Given his form prior to that run was over the short course, he did a fantastic job to hold on and run fourth in a bunched finish.

If he can jump quickly and lead the field up into the first bend, then the fitness benefit he should have derived from his last run might be enough to see him hold on to a win or at the very least finish in the placings this time.

He races on the four-day backup which is evidence to suggest he has pulled well from his last start.

Looks a great each-way bet.

Suggested Bet: Shanlyn Bear each way at $10 win and $2.90 the place.

Suggested Exotic: Trifecta – 2, 5, 7/ 2, 5, 7/ 2, 5, 7, 8
