The Memphis Grizzlies (13-13, ninth in the Western Conference) travel to Texas ahead of its clash against the Dallas Mavericks (13-15, tenth in the Eastern Conference) at the American Airlines centre on Tuesday.

Luka Doncic continues to be the standout for the Mavericks this season after yet another huge display on the floor with 44 points in the 121 to 118 loss against the Portland Trail Blazers.

For the Grizzlies, the spread for the Grizzlies has been far more even.

Centre Jonas Valanciunas is averaging a double double with 16.2 points per game and 11 rebounds per game while point guard Ja Morant and shooting guard DIllon Brooks are also making their presence on the front court.

This will be the first time the two teams play off against each other this season and both are evenly poised from an output point of view.

Both the Grizzlies and the Mavericks have been involved in very high-scoring affairs in their last five encounters but it’s the Mavericks who have the clear advantage on offence.

Dallas, having won four of its last five fixtures, has averaged 128 points per game in that patch while the Grizzlies have scored at 113 points per game.

Defensively, both squads have looked a touch frail in the last week and a half.

Despite being in a purple patch of form prior to the loss against the Trail Blazers, the Mavericks have conceded 124.4 points in its last five matches and it doesn’t fare much better for the Grizzlies  who have conceded 118 points per match in its last five games.

This game is going to be determined by who can clamp down in defence and it seems as though the Grizzlies may just have an edge here.

Memphis has averaged a league high 9.8 steals per match over the course of this NBA season and have slightly outrebounded the Mavericks with 44.3 rebounds compared to 42.3.

Looks like the way to go here is Memphis to cover the spread.

Suggested Bet: Memphis Grizzlies to cover the point spread +4.5 at $1.91

Suggested Same Game Multi:
Leg 1: Memphis Grizzlies to cover the point spread
Leg 2: Total points over 229.5
Combined odds = $3.50

A Western Conference battle between the fourth placed Phoenix Suns and the fifth placed Portland Trail Blazers is upon us today from the PHX Arena in Arizona.

The month of February has proved fruitful for the Trail Blazers winning eight of its 11 games however it will be seeking to bounce back after a shock defeat at the hands of the Washington Wizards on Sunday.

Damien Lillard continued his point scoring antics in the 118-111 loss with 35 points to go with 12 assists and six rebounds but was well done on his 45% field goal average shooting 10 from 30 and it was not enough to get his side over the line.

Efficiency has been the major issue for the Trail Blazers this year as it ranks 27th in the NBA for field goal percentage.

The Suns, meanwhile, put together two brilliant offensive displays over the weekend to come away with a 128 to 97 trouncing of the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday which followed a 132 to 114 triumph against the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday.

Phoenix shooting guard Devin Booker was like a marksman from three point range in the win over the Grizzlies.

Booker made five out of seven attempts from beyond the perimeter and, in doing so, led his squad to a franchise record 24 three-point buckets made on his way to 23 points, five assists and five rebounds in the win over the Grizzlies.

The Suns shooting accuracy had played a pivotal factor in their 19-10 win-loss record.

Monty Williams men are nailing 48% of their attempted shots this season which sees them ranked seventh in the league for field goal percentage.

A 10-5 record on the road for the Trail Blazers may be enough to spur them on after the disappointing loss at home to the Wizards but it’s hard to tip against the Suns.

With the home court advantage and winning form, we will side with the Suns to get the job done here and make it three wins in a row.

Suggested Bet: Phoenix Suns to cover the point spread -6.5 at $1.94

After a rare loss on Saturday, the Utah Jazz will attempt to make it 14 straight wins at home when it faces the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday.

Utah was stopped in its tracks by a defiant Los Angeles Clippers who inflicted a 116-112 defeat upon Quin Snyder’s men, only its sixth loss for the season and second loss in 22 games.

Charlotte, on the other hand, played out a heated and wild 102-100 win over the Golden State Warriors with Terry Rozier hitting an incredible off balance on the run the match winning shot as time expired.

Rozier ended up with a game-high 36 points on the night as Charlotte improved its overall record to 14-15.

Having already met this season in a scoring feast won by the Jazz 138 to 121 it’s at least some guide as to how the squads will match up.

The Jazz were rarely troubled against the Hornets after quarter time on February 6 and went to work from three-point territory to go 26 from 50 beyond the arc which would ultimately prove the difference.

Snyder’s defence put the shackles down on Rozier that night restricting the Hornets shooting guard to only 16 points well below his 21.1 point per game season average. Rozier will need to up his game and put in a performance like he did on Saturday if his squad stands any genuine winning chance.

The Jazz trio of Bogdan Bogdanovic, Ruby Gobert and Donovan Mitchell were relentless on the floor in the 17-point victory.

Bogdanovic led all scorers with 31 points, Gobert hit a double double with 15 rebounds, 12 points as well as four blocks and Mitchell managed 30 points of his own.

Cannot see how the Hornets are able to switch the result, but if LaMelo Ball can reproduce his 34-point and eight-assist effort against the Jazz earlier this month then keeping within the point spread is a genuine chance.

Expecting the Jazz to win but the point spread of 12.5 does look a bit generous.

Suggested Bet: Charlotte Hornets to cover the point spread +12.5 at $1.87
