Melbourne Victory will attempt to atone for a poor start to its A-League campaign when it travels to Bankwest Stadium tonight in its game against the sixth-placed Western Sydney Wanderers.

Victory head coach Grant Brebnar has had a baptism of fire in his first official A-League campaign at the helm.

Sitting in last place having only won one game for the year, the Victory faithful are growing restless with the poor performances of late and it did not get any better after being spanked 5-2 by Brisbane Roar last Saturday.

The fortunes have been mixed for Western Sydney, meanwhile, who have won two games, drawn three and lost one under Carl Robinson thus far this season.

Western Sydney gets Melbourne Victory at the right time – out of form, leaking in defence like a rusty tap and unable to score enough goals to be competitive.

The only glimmer of hope Victory has is if shining light Jake Brimmer turns it on like he has all season.

Brimmer has scored three of the five goals Melbourne has managed this season but even his form is unlikely to be good enough to win this.

Suggested Bets:

Western Sydney head to head at $2.05

Jake Brimmer to score at anytime at $3.50

Macarthur FC goes head to head with Adelaide United for the first time in A-League history as it seeks a so far elusive home win at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday night.

The Bulls have slotted into the competition seamlessly so far.

Ante Milicic currently has his squad sitting third on the table, albeit having played two more games than Sydney FC and Perth Glory who sit below them.

The only sour note for the Bulls this season has been the winless streak in front of its home fans.

A 2-0 win over the Brisbane Roar on Tuesday notched up yet another win on the road and  highlighted exactly what the newly founded A-League team is capable of producing this season.

Mark Milligan looked rock solid at the back upon his return to action after being sent off against Sydney a week ago.

Meanwhile, Adelaide has definitely shown improvement on last season but does come into this game having lost three of its last four fixtures.

The Reds only win in the last fortnight was a 1-0 triumph at Coopers Stadium against the horrifically out of form Melbourne Victory.

Carl Veart’s men are yet to win an away game in three attempts this season and it faces an arduous task to do so here.

Macarthur stamped its authority on the league against the Roar and if that is a sign of what is to come it will get another three points here.

Suggested Bet: Macarthur head to head win at $2.05

Sydney FC pack their bags and head down to AAMI Park as it prepares to face Western United in Melbourne on Saturday night.

If the Sky Blues were to win it would make it three wins in a row while for Western United a win would put them a step closer to climbing out of the bottom half of the table.

Mark Rudan would have been dismayed by the five minute patch which cost his squad the game against Central Coast last weekend.

Leading 2-1 into the 77th minute against Central Coast a win looked on the cards as Alessandro Diamanti pulled the strings up front.

However, the Black and Green defence fell to pieces and conceded a brace to Mariners striker Alou Kuol and were ultimately handed a 3-2 defeat.

The Sydney front line led by Kosta Barbarouses will be sensing an opportunity to really hurt this United defence who has looked vulnerable this season.

Barbarouses proved to be the match winner against the Wellington Phoenix.

He found the back of the net twice in the 2-1 win over the Phoenix and now has a nice platform to continue his form.

The sense of optimism Western United can lean on is its 2-1 win against Sydney last year plus a return home to Melbourne in front of home fans.

Predicting a stalemate for this game. That seems to be where the value lies here.

Suggested Same Game Multi:

  • Result Draw
  • Total Corners over 8.5
  • Both teams to score

Combined Odds = $5
