Weekend NBA Tips and Previews, Saturday 6th February

Plenty of best bets and value to be found alongside a same game multi that will whet the appetite for Saturday NBA action.

Nine games of NBA action headlined by the clash between Brooklyn and Toronto.

The action also sees a big game between championship contenders the Los Angeles Clippers welcome the Boston Celtics to the Staples Centre in what is sure to be a tit for tat battle between two talented line-ups.

Plenty of best bets and value to be found alongside a same game multi that will whet the appetite for Saturday NBA action.

The Brooklyn Nets play host to the Toronto Raptors at the Barclays Centre with both teams coming into this game with winning form.

Sitting well placed with a positive 14-9 win-loss ledger, the Nets have been involved in some incredible openly offensive games in the last fortnight.

The Raptors, too, find themselves in entertaining affairs that have led to high amounts of buckets being drained in their last fortnight.

However, despite the high-scoring basketball both these teams have dished up in their last four outings, the total points score market set at 243 points which seems very generous.

The head to head between both teams last year saw the Raptors take home the spoils three times with the total points scored in each game only yielded a 216 point per game average.

That win-loss ledger is likely to swing in the Nets favour with the form of recently acquired star recruit James Harden proving profitable for the Nets thus far this season.

Suggested Bets:

  • Total points scored under 243 points at $1.89
  • Brooklyn Nets win at $1.48

The second of back-to-back games at the American Airlines Centre between the Washington Wizards and Miami Heat commences on Saturday morning.

It was the Wizards who finished over the top of the Heat to notch up a 103-100 upset victory after trailing at the end of the third period on February 3.

Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal was on point in the boilover tallying up a game-high and ultimately match winning 32 points to go with eight rebounds and four assists.

Not only was it the Heat’s inability to stop Beal but a poor second-half, where it only managed 45 points, did not help its cause either.

Miami has looked nothing like the team that reached the NBA finals last year.

It has had to bear the brunt of an injury, and covid protocol, interrupted season for its star playmaker and point-scorer Jimmy Butler.

He has only averaged 18.8 points per game this year but it’s tough to keep gun players down for too long.

Now that he’s back with the team he can get his mojo back.

In the loss against the Wizards he only managed 19 points and that might prove to be the pipe-opener he needed to get Miami’s season back on track.

Given the market heavily sided the Heat on February 3, we’ll give them another chance here.

Suggested Bet: Miami Heat Cover the -6.5 Spread at $1.91

The Los Angeles Clippers will be looking to keep its touch Western Conference leaders when it hosts the Boston Celtics at the Staples Centre on Saturday.

The Clippers arrive back home after a lengthy five-game road trip saw it come away with four wins. The only blemish being against the Brooklyn Nets.

Meanwhile, the Celtics form in the past fortnight has been inconsistent. Three losses in its last four games has meant it continues to be in the clump of teams that make up the fourth to ninth places in the Eastern Conference.

Both games between the Clippers and Celtics went into overtime last season and it’s safe to expect a close game here again despite the market siding favourably with the Clippers as the $1.42 elect.

It’s going to be an epic battle between the top performers for each side as well.

Paul George has been the standout for LA all season. He’s averaged 24.4 points per game as well as 5.5 assists.

While for the Celtics, Jayson Tatum continues to lead the way for his squad scoring 26.8 points per game, hauling in 7.3 rebounds per game and 4.1 assists.

Suggested Bet: Same Game Multi

Clippers WIN
Celtics Cover +6.5 Spread
Total Points Under 221.5
