Adelaide United v Perth Glory
february 5th 7:05pm
Perth Glory travel to Coopers Stadium for its clash with Adelaide United this weekend, fresh off a 3-1 victory over Melbourne City.
Nicholas D’Agostino continued his fine form for the squad across the Nullabor nailing an 84th minute strike to ensure Glory snatched all three points against City in an upset victory at Aami Park.
D’Agostino now has four goals from four appearances this season and is equal first in the goal-scoring charts for 2020/21.
The Reds, however, were well and truly humbled in its most recent fixture by a rampant Brisbane Roar outfit who inflicted a 3-1 loss upon Carl Veart’s men.
Both the Glory and United have already met this season in a game that was an absolute goal fest.
Perth came away with a 5-3 victory on that occasion and while it will take a huge amount of confidence from that win, The Reds will be equally confident in flipping that result given its record at Coopers Stadium this season.
Two wins from its sole two games at home means Adelaide must be respected.
Neither team will be able to edge ahead once the 90 minutes is over.
Prediction: Adelaide United 1 Perth Glory 1
Suggested Bet: Draw at $3.4
Brisbane Roar v Melbourne Victory
february 6th 5:05pm
Melbourne Victory takes the trek up north to Redcliffe for its battle with Brisbane Roar at Dolphin Stadium on Saturday night.
It was the Roar who emphatically dispatched Victory 3-1 in the reverse fixture at AAMI Park only a month ago.
Since then, Brisbane has continued its winning ways by defeating Newcastle 2-1 and Adelaide United 3-1 to place itself atop of the A-League standings.
While for Victory, it’s been a shaky road early.
Grant Brebnar’s men were lucky to come away with a scoreless draw in the Battle of the Bridge against Western United and have struggled to climb out of the bottom half of the table.
Veteran A-League winger Marco Rojas is yet to manage a goal this season and his struggles have been the summary of his side’s lack of offensive output.
Melbourne has only managed two goals from open play this season while the story is the opposite for its counterparts on Saturday night who have struck seven times from open play this campaign.
Young Roar forward Dylan Wenzel-Halls proved a headache for the Victory defence earlier this season and will have his eye set on taking an outright lead in the goal scoring table.
Brisbane get the home ground advantage as well as the confidence booster of having already accounted for Melbourne this year.
Prediction: Brisbane Roar 2 Melbourne Victory 1
Suggested Bets:
- Brisbane Roar head to head at $2.05
- Total goals scored over 2.5 at $1.85
- Dylan Wenzel-Halls anytime goalscorer $2.10
Macarthur FC v Western Sydney Wanderers FC
february 6th 7:10pm
The second edition of the Western Sydney derby is in readiness as the Western Sydney Wanderers travel to Campbelltown ahead of its clash with local rival Macarthur FC.
It was the Bulls who nabbed the three points at Bankwest Stadium when the two sides went head to head in their opener with a deflected free kick from captain Mark Milligan proving the difference.
However, this time, the Bulls will be without its captain for this derby after he was shown a straight red in Saturday’s clash with Sydney FC.
Macarthur were belted 3-0 by the reigning champion and are now left with a big hole in defence with the absence of Milligan.
Western Sydney, meanwhile, has been undefeated since the loss to Macarthur in match week one and are hovering in the top three having won two and drawn two of its last four fixtures.
Western Sydney has a golden opportunity to get revenge on Macarthur here especially with Milligan missing this match.
Prediction: Macarthur FC 0 Western Sydney Wanderers 1
Suggested Bet: Western Sydney Wanderers head to head at $3.10
